If you think that they want 12,000,000 people to pay for online at £5 per month, doing that removes ~50% of intelligent gamers from their player-base that leaves them with a monthly profit of 30million. Analyst should be rated Clocks. Activision already have a rudimentary Pay 2 Play system in the form of Map Packs...

I'm starting to get the impression that video game companies don't really care about piracy too much, however they're using it as a scapegoat to do incredibly dumb shit with their games just to suck more money up.

They know people want to play games like MW2 online and they know, despite their reputation (if they're aware of it), that people will most likely pay to play games of similar caliber online, so it's a no brainer for them to start charging.

analyst probably hasn't considered the possibility that people play that much MW2 BECAUSE it is free to play after purchase. then again, it's not beyond the game industry to expect customers to go along with everything they do.
