• Let him arrest me, former Trump aide Sam Nunberg says he will refuse mueller subpoena

I saw a story about someone stealing an Oscar the day after it was given out to someone and I was convinced that was the stupidest thing I'd read today. And barely an hour after that, I get someone responding to a subpoena with 'lol no' and having a meltdown on live TV. I still can't get my head wrapped around the absurdity.
Saw someone say that he's possibly letting it all out and is acting irrationally because he's terrified he'll be killed before he can talk. Letting it all out in public will not only make killing him pointless, it'll look dodgy as shit since he now has a massive spotlight on him. Otherwise he's making his legal position INSANELY hard for literally no reason. I'm not 100% on board but these days it's honestly not that far fetched.
HE CAN'T TOUUCH MEEEE REEEEEEEEEE
This is a perfect move for the gop. Get mueller to go after someone trump hates publicly and who hates trump publicly "Me and trump don't get along you know that katie?" and refuse to participate with mueller's investigation. You see what mueller does, if he gets arrested then hes not linked to trump and if he doesn't get arrested then it would show mueller might hesitate to go after someone big time if he isn't going to stand up to nunberg. If nunberg doesn't get arrested then mueller looks toothless. (Keep in mind the big issue the last few months being whether trump will testify with mueller and when and if he can refuse, even if its against the law for him to refuse if nunberg can get away with it why should trump bother listening?)
"Donald Trump did not want to attack Hillary Clinton[...] because had he not won the primary, he was probably going to endorse Hillary Clinton." "I'm not going to spend 80 hours because a bunch of FBI agents[...] want to harass me!" "It is a waste of time! When I got that subpoena, it was ridiculous to me. The subpoena is absolutely ridiculous. Why should I hand them over every email with Steve Bannon and Roger Stone since November of 2015?" "Let [people] think what they want!" "I think it would be really, really funny if they wanted to arrest me, because I don't want to spend eighty hours going over emails with Roger Stone!" "I think my lawyer's going to dump me right now." "They asked me if Donald Trump was taking positions because of his business." "You know what they asked? They asked me, 'did you hear people speaking Russian in the Trump office?' They asked things like, 'did you hear about Trump Tower Moscow.'" "My lawyer's going to dump me, by the way." "I'm not going to go to jail! [Mueller]'s not going to do anything! He's not gonna do anything!" "Maybe people should start snubbing their nose at [this investigation]." "They want me to go in this Friday and they want me to testify against my mentor, and he did nothing wrong, okay? Roger did nothing wrong!" "We would have had Bill Clinton's illegitimate black child at the second debate." "I think they may [have something on the president]. I think he may have done something during the election. I can't explain unless you were there. They way they asked questions about what I had heard after I was fired from campaign[...] it insinuated to me that [the FBI] thinks he may have done something."
imagine the fucking timeline where trump lost the primary and decided to endorse hillary clinton afterwards
imagine the fucking timeline where trump lost the primary and decided to endorse hillary clinton afterwards
Imagine Trump as the President and Chair of the Board for Sinclair Broadcasting, soon relabeled "Trump TV".

If that were the case, I'm certain he would talk in a more leveled, and concise manner on very specific things. All I hear in his voice is anger and irritation, not fear.
Just when you thought he was done for the day:
I wonder how long it's gonna be until a person that Mueller subpoenas has to be tazed and dragged out in cuffs in order for them to testify.
What is even going on in this timeline anymore.
He just warned Sarah Sanders to shut up on MSNBC???
CNN tweeted clips from many segments of the interview but they didn't clip the part where he said he changed his opinions on the investigation after explicitly stating Trump couldn't have colluded with them, essentially being against his interests prior despite his past stances and business dealings, essentially.

You can't claim he's innocent or guilty, but to me it feels like CNN is trying to spin it somehow while they stir shit up.
That's because his denials are worth less than jack shit without any evidence or indicia of reliability. Of course someone who has been a close aide to Trump and who has probably witnessed a lot of shady shit would deny any wrongdoing/flip-flopping when it's convenient to do so. His denials aren't what's interesting; it's the context and additional information surrounding those denials.
This Nunberg guy feels like a distraction. What's actually going on right now?
Not gonna lie the way the reporter pressed him didn't sit right with me. CNN tweeted clips from many segments of the interview but they didn't clip the part where he said he changed his opinions on the investigation after explicitly stating Trump couldn't have colluded with them, essentially being against his interests prior despite his past stances and business dealings, essentially. So he's also likening it to a witch hunt too in that respect, given that they want everything from him, which should be fine unless he's been in illegal shit. It's the nature of his line of work so he should have been expecting this; waste of time be damned. You can't claim he's innocent or guilty of anything, but to me it feels like CNN is trying to spin it somehow while they stir shit up.
It would have been journalistic malpractice not to ask him those followup questions. Every question they asked him is critical to the future of our country. They're not trying to spin anything, they're trying to figure out just what the fuck he actually knows, and why he pulled a complete reversal of opinion on this investigation, literally, overnight. That he legitimately sounds like he might be inebriated right now is also a shocking opportunity for them to probe him when he's not able to effectively lie his way out of of a contradiction.
Yeah this seems pretty accurate
fun fact: katy tur's parents are the helicopter pilot/reporter who were first to broadcast the oj chase

nunberg just said he thinks they have something pretty bad on trump and that it probably has to do with his business dealings
The only detail that struck me as interesting is the comment he made about himself and Bannon sharing clips and videos with each other while they talk about how much they hate people (public servants and their aides working for our country; these are the people we have up there). The rest is just ranting about how they want in on his personal matters, and how he sees the whole thing as a joke. I think he should stop bitching and give them what they're asking for. [editline]5th March 2018[/editline] Oh shit I got mixed up, what I'm talking about above was referencing the MSNBC interview. OOPS
He also revealed: 1) He believes that Carter Page was acting as a Kremlin agent 2) That Mueller's investigative team are looking into Trump Tower Moscow, which means they are investigating the "piss tape" 3) Trump knew about the Trump Tower meeting with Russians a week beforehand, and was openly discussing it with his inner circle, which proves at least one felony charge against Trump for falsifying sworn statements for his son 4) That he believes Trump "did something" with Russia, and that the pointed line of questioning from the FBI made him believe that they "have something" proving that Those are all pretty "interesting" points to me. [editline]5th March 2018[/editline]
nunberg just said he thinks they have something pretty bad on trump and that it probably has to do with his business dealings
Money laundering, at the minimum, is a charge that is virtually guaranteed to be brought against Trump. Even long before he ran for president, investigative journalists were laying out the foundations for that. Trump's business history is extremely fuckin' shady, and Russian organized crime has run hand in hand with it.
Oh my god, Trump's big mouth was his rise and will be his downfall.
Here's a write-up on what happened the last time someone refused to testify before a special prosecutor's grand jury, specifically Kenneth Starr's in the 90s TLDR jail time https://lawfareblog.com/sam-nunbergs-media-meltdown
To me the most interesting part of Nunberg's MSNBC interview was his statement that Donald Trump not only knew about the Trump Tower meeting, but also discussed it openly. Which begs the question: Discussed it with whom exactly? And would that person or persons be willing to testify under oath?
You're right, he's contradicted himself more than once too; I'm watching them again. There's definitely been something going on.
It's just conjecture, but I legitimately think he's drunk right now.. I think he found something deeply incriminating while reviewing the emails he was going to send in compliance with the subpoena. As the realization that he, or somebody he is protecting, is going to jail, he started drinking, and in his stupor thought that he could somehow talk his way out of it by drunkenly rambling on half a dozen news stations. Maybe the entire point of the investigation is to look into just who was in fact colluding. And you're only making yourself look guilty with these actions so fantastic job proving your innocence there, buddy.
I think Trump's going to tweet about this but I can't work out if he will deride Crazy Sam Nunberg who played a very small role in the campaign, or slam the unfair treatment of him
I think Trump's going to tweet about this but I can't work out if he will deride Crazy Sam Nunberg who played a very small role in the campaign, or slam the unfair treatment of him
Ah, you're forgetting the Trump Twister - the Third Option! Both, at the same time!
not to tinfoil hat here but it kinda seems like he knows the whole thing is falling apart and might be safer in jail than at home, so he's letting the whole thing rip.
might be safer in jail than at home
This could be it. We know how Russians like to silence those who cross their political motives. What if Russia goes after any of these idiots and silences them?
I wonder... On one hand, assuming he's telling the truth (and what reason has he to lie, really?) the interviews reveal, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Mueller is gunning for Trump himself, very likely already has a good deal of evidence on Trump. I actually worry if this revelation of his is in any way damaging to the investigation. It's usually a bad idea to show one's hand early. On the other, it's very possible that Mueller put Nunberg up to this. The benefits of this sort of information going public are significant: America starts paying very close attention. In the White House, assuming Trump is guilty (let's face it, gents, he fucking is) this precipitates a flurry of activity to find and delete incriminating paper trails. If, as I suspect, Mueller has had a warrant for surveillance approved, this plays perfectly into his hands and the act itself hands him massive evidence to support his case. It's also very likely Trump is going to try to fire him, or get his staff to fire him. This, too, works out for Mueller. The President is on thin ice.
