Way cheaper than mahogany, sounds better than rosewood. Stains everything a healthy blood red and burns your lungs too.
Rosewood is actually serious business.
There's honestly so many alternatives to rosewood. most people only seem to think that you can use 3 woods for fretboards, there's something like 10+ decent good fretboard materials. If they have to stoop this low, they should just use pau ferro or something like that instead.

Last gibson I owned had a seriously shitty fret board on it, so I'm not surprised. The only American companies I buy guitars from any more are Rickenbacker and Carvin. Head and shoulders above anything gibson has ever done.
Wish people would get a clue about them, a lot of the knock offs are surpassing the quality of gibsons these days.
