I actually just found out that this story was blown out of wack, since I live not too far from here.
The "Loser" part of this news story was an inside joke between the girl and the teacher.
When the girl arrived home, the mom looked around her bag for homework and found the paper; which had a 140% grade on it.
The teacher found it funny to say "-20% because you're a loser" for kicks since she got such a grade.
The mom, freaked, and wanted revenge, while ignoring her daughter saying, "Mom its just a joke! CALM DOWN!" Note the fact they didn't interview the girl, because the mom wanted to possibly get this teacher sued.
