Cowards are Blackmailing Young Women to Death on the Internet

Once these lurkers identify a target on blogTV or a similar site, they all jump into the chat room in hopes that one of them can persuade her to get naked. If they can persuade her to show some skin, it’s referred to as a “win,” and images of the girl are screen-captured or recorded without her consent or awareness. Those who log these images call themselves “cappers.”
I smell 4chan.
actually the board is called AnonIB, I believe, which is very 4chan like.
Starting over from scratch every time because a large group of people are harassing you is not the best experience on the internet.
probably better than suicide
But the article goes on to explain about users hacking into email accounts, and finding blackmail material. It's not as simple as, "don't strip."
It's not as simple as "don't strip." It's not really much more complicated than, "don't share things you wouldn't want public, and don't use stupid passwords for things".
From what I've seen, that's how most of this usually happens. Obviously there are things that happen beyond that, like ex-bf/gf going nuts, but what are you going to do about that?

you smell anonib
actually the board is called AnonIB, I believe, which is very 4chan like.
Well it is a chan, and as far as I know, it was created as a place for people who like posting camwhores. Probably people fed up with /b/ and /soc/.

You mean besides 'Ce la vie' ?
Like, educating children from an early age the dangers and continuing to move forward with that into early adolescence.
We can also do more than just frown at these actions, a lot of these men get off on exposing these young girls, what would happen if we exposed them?
actually the board is called AnonIB, I believe, which is very 4chan like.
it's an imageboard, but the content is pretty notably different. anonib is infamous for hosting massive amounts of bestiality, child porn, and other extremely questionable smut

I did not mean to imply that education wouldn't help. Clearly it does, in the exact same way as any sexual education does. You also need computer literacy. Teach people how to use privacy settings, and reinforce behavior for strong passwords. Not the kj%29unG0 type of password either. Strong passwords that are able to be remembered by humans.
I wasn't actually screaming at you. I also agree that we need to teach children to watch themselves on the internet.
But this is the combination of societal and cultural issues rearing its ugly head.
No, you didn't, but you were twisting what I was saying into something extremely stupid, so forgive me if I was peeved.
There's nothing else to do about this. The blackmailers are arrested and convicted already, the only thing left to do is to prevent from happening again, which can only be done through educating the children on how to avoid this.
Someone murder everyone on the site please

:v:
Blackmailing is never right :v:
Going, "lol, maybe you shouldn't be human" doesn't make it disappear.
so flashing strangers is regular human behavior?
so flashing strangers is regular human behavior?
Being curious and sexually active while at a young age because you were never properly taught, yes.

so the problem is shitty parents who let their unstable children freely access the internet?
so the problem is shitty parents who let their unstable children freely access the internet?
The problem has multiple vectors. Children aren't taught proper safety and privacy practices at an early age. Most get the 1950's sex ed class in public schools. There are also plenty of guys working together in a close network to swarm girls who instead of having to start over from scratch, would rather flash their tits, get those people harassing them off their case and move on.
It doesn't work like that but since when have teenagers been sensible?

I love how the girl's room is so sweet and innocent meanwhile the guy's room is grim and dark with porn on the wall, anarchy/weed symbols and crushed beer cans.
They forgot to put a skull in his desk.
Everyone knows bad people always have human skulls with them.
guys guys guys
Make sure your secret question isn't "What is your mother's maiden name?"
Email hacking crisis averted.
Not by much. "Don't email pictures of you stripping."
This is similar to telling women not to get raped and not men to behave.
If a woman wants to send a tit pic to her boyfriend she has every right to do so without people hacking her accounts and blackmailing her with it
If a woman wants to send a tit pic to her boyfriend she has every right to do so without people hacking her accounts and blackmailing her with it
Children don't, because that's considered distributing child porn, even if it was done by the child.
Listen, it doesn't matter how stupid a mistake is. Nobody deserves to die, let alone by ending their own life, just because they made one single mistake and posted their tits on the internet. Yes, these girls might have been dumb, but don't people deserve to be able to learn from their mistakes rather than just dying because they did something stupid?

Mine looks more like the one on the left.
Not by much. "Don't email pictures of you stripping."
it's not advisable to put such sensitive material anywhere on the net, just like it's not a good idea to have important logins on dropbox and stuff
Yes, these girls might have been dumb, but don't people deserve to be able to learn from their mistakes rather than just dying because they did something stupid?
I'm pretty sure no one was arguing that they shouldn't.
I don't see why you would 'have' to strip anyway
You shouldn't have done it the first time if they're extorting you with nudes of you
Maybe don't be a slut???
"Give me sex or I'll ruin your life."
Geniuses or not, these guys are assholes.
I'll probably be called a rape apologist/misogynist/etc but why is it excusable that girls were circulating CP and why is 'its only human' an okay
I'm not saying people should be dying for it but there's no excusable reason to share nudes if you're underage, I don't care who you're giving them to, you should be prepares to face some consequences

It actually isn't in a lot of places. There have been a few cases where children sharing nudes have been convicted and placed on the sex offender list.
I think that's way too far, but still, it does happen.
