Hey if he lives an embarrassing enough existence to think torture is beautiful, bringing that shit up all the time is fair game. You must have been dropped on your head several times as a baby to hold such a belief.
Do you ever respond to this guys posts without bringing up torture or.... ???
I make my point, AND I bring up how dumb he and Trump are.
If I get to do both in the same sentence, then it's a win-win. Less typing for me and less reading for everyone else.
Like tbh I shouldn't even have to explain myself lol. Your reaction shouldn't be like "Uuungh, he's gonna bring up TORTURE again, wow get over it"
For the sake of the entire world, I hope Hillary wins. 4 to 8 years of the same is better than 4 to 8 years of radical change whether it's to the right with Trump or the left with Sanders.
Please explain why Sanders would not make a good president
Trump has always been about spouting whatever gets him votes, so "series of bizarre rants" fits his entire platform perfectly.
What's wrong with radical change? It's this kind of attitude that holds the country in stagnation.
This country could use change - hopefully towards that of Sander's ideologies.
radical change is good if said radical change benefits the country as a whole. unfortunately you don't see many politicians, nay, presidential candidates that have radical changes that can fix the US in various ways.
Still boggles my mind how anyone could support him. I hate Clinton, but holy shit, Trump is a maniac.
the only reason I see how much support he has is because he isn't afraid to speak his mind on shit. the dude is unfiltered, and doesn't give a shit what people think. a lot of people like that quality I guess. it's fine to be unfiltered, but not to a degree that you just come off as an ass.
This was her best speech this entire election. If she does more of this, she should win
The problem is that it's all content-free, she's not talking about her policies, just badmouthing her competition.

This is one of the arguments coming from Hillary and her scaredy cat supporters that I can't stand hearing.

We need radical change, the status quo is going to kill us, Trump will just kill us slightly faster.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

You see it's so much easier to just bring up an irrelevant opinion I have and attack me for that than it is to actually make a post contributing to the thread
She kind of is, being a former secretary of state and her opponent's experience being "China and running the miss universe pagent"
Whatever your grievances, she is on paper way more qualified to speak on foreign policy than trump
Because she totally made a good sectary of state lol
The problem is that it's all content-free, she's not talking about her policies, just badmouthing her competition.
She talked about her side later in the speech if you read the article.
I also get the suspicion you don't give a two shits what she has to say regarding policy judging how much you have been publicly jerking it to Trump roasting her in a debate.
Yes, Trump has astounding foreign policy credentials, what with his very first words as a presidential candidate insulting our neighbor and one of our closest trading partners, endorsements from a fat psychopathic dictator and the new Tsar of Russia, and an unstated intent to throw all of our allies under the bus and let Russia have their way with them/ let other countries acquire nuclear weapons, because the path to peace is built upon constructing more nukes.
Whenever I see Trump speak it makes me angry, everything about it is so unprofessional and unbecoming of a president. I don't think I can handle the embarrassment when I travel overseas and people ask me why I would vote for Trump.

Sadly this is what appeals to many of his supporters.

Discussing Trump's policy on torture is hardly irrelevant when discussing his foreign policy. Please don't deflect the discussion just because it's entering uncomfortable grounds that you have been repeatedly schooled on.

It's not irrelevant though. Supporting the torture of foreign combatants and supporting that you bomb their families is part of foreign policy.
It's also completely retarded and wrong.
Though if you want I could also talk about how his attitude to foreign policy is literally just "I will make a deal with Israel and Palestine" or "I will be a dealmaker" or "Iran deal is bad" or "Don't take sides with Israel, but more support for Israel"
Trump was asked how he would respond to North Korea's nuclear threat. "I would get China to make that guy disappear in one form or another very quickly," Trump said. He didn't clarify whether disappearing was equivalent to being assassinated but said, "Well, I've heard of worse things, frankly."
"I'm going to renegotiate some of our military costs because we protect South Korea."
Like where even do you get this "I'm holier than thou stop mentioning how I and my candidate support torturing dudes"
Please explain why Sanders would not make a good president
You have to become president first in order to be a good one.

Torture didn't seem to be relevant until I made a post, all you people just like to take the easy way out and begin virtue signaling and try and take some moral high ground to each other that you think torture is bad because you all value the comfort and feelings of terrorists over the safety of innocent people.

Even vague quotes he has said at least show some attempt to take a diplomatic approach to these situations is preferable than anything Clinton has said, the fact he even broached the idea of trying to strike deal in the whole Isael-Palestine mess is noteworthy.

will the people being tortured be primarily foreign or not, yes or no

So are we just not allowed to mention Trump's policies on torture if you happen to be kicking about in case it triggers an embarrassing rant about how we must just love terrorists?
If torture actually worked, I might have to consider its merits more seriously, but it doesn't. That's not a matter of opinion or virtue. Torture does not yield actionable intelligence. This has been confirmed not only by countless studies, but by the very organization responsible for performing the torture. So, you'll have to forgive me if I don't humor yours or Trump's "torture them anyway because they are bad people and deserve it" approach.

Of course not, but I find it funny how it gets brought up the moment I started posting, I said Hillary isn't in a position to criticize foreign policy given her abysmal performance as Sectary of State but naturally you people just go to "yea well you and Trump support torture so that's just as bad".
It boggles my mind how people who have went to school for years and who more than likely are far smarter than myself can get on a news show viewed by millions and defend Trump's positions.
[editline]4th June 2016[/editline]
Does he even really have a serious foreign policy on any issue?

So? Trump supports torture. That's a totally valid criticism, and completely relevant to the topic at hand. Get over it.
So? Trump supports torture. That's a totally valid criticism, and completely relevant to the topic at hand. Get over it.
And Hillary being awful at her job is totally valid criticism, but when I say something you are just jump to torture as if supporting torture is a bad thing. Don't try and make it sound like I don't want y'all to not talk about it, but don't act like you people don't just take the easy route every time I make a post regarding Trump.

Supporting torture is an extremely bad thing and indicates a complete disregard for human rights and international law, as well as a complete denial of the reality of its uselessness.

Yes, saying that you believe Hillary is bad at her job is valid criticism. I never stated otherwise.
Let me clear this up for you: so long as it's relevant to the thread, people are allowed to criticize Trump's torture policies. They are allowed to criticize you for supporting them should you decide to. If you continue to act like a big whiny baby and throw a fit whenever the subject is broached, you will be banned for derailing, because while the discussion of Trump's policies regarding torture is relevant, your persecution complex is not.
Note: you can still discuss your (absurd) views regarding torture. You are not barred from talking about torture. Just quit throwing a tantrum about how unfair it is that people are allowed to have and share an opposing viewpoint.

How about you stop condescending to people while we're at it, I wasn't "throwing a tantrum", I was making on observation how you people just like to jump right to my views on torture every single time I post, but it gets tiresome. Don't try and pin me for the thread derailing.
Supporting torture is an extremely bad thing and indicates a complete disregard for human rights and international law, as well as a complete denial of the reality of its uselessness.
I think people forgo their human rights once they start committing acts of terrorism, they are depriving people of their natural rights, it would only be treating them as equals at this point.
Probably because it is????
Why?

edit: Does this post count as derailing too? It's still relating to Trump's foreign policy, just through Wystan lol.

Yeah see this retarded shit is exactly why I keep bringing up torture.
TORTURE DOES NOT WORK
IT HAS NEVER WORKED
I'VE GIVEN YOU DOZENS OF LINKS OVER THE PAST WEEKS/MONTHS TO PROPER SOURCES SAYING TORTURE IS COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE
TORTURING TERRORISTS HAS NOT SAVED A SINGLE AMERICAN LIFE
TORTURING TERRORISTS ACTUALLY CAUSES AMERICAN DEATHS.
Like who the fuck do you think you are, being this bitchy about your sociopathic tendencies. YOU AND TRUMP ARE 100% WRONG on this issue, this issue which happens to be foreign policy related.
Clinton might be a twat on many issues, but at least she's not actively trying to KILL AMERICAN CITIZENS by supporting torture.
If torture ever worked in any context, then our discussion might be completely different, BUT IT DOESN'T.
CAPS LOCK FOR EMPHASIS
Why exactly do you think that I give a shit about some terrorist's feelings or comfort? I care about American lives more than you do.
[editline]4th June 2016[/editline]
Why?
Why is torture bad?
Cause the real world doesn't work like TV shows.
oh so like
the obama policies under which the DOW tripled, the cost of gas got cut to a third, unemployment halved, and our standing in the world reached normalcy after the last guy got shoes thrown at him?
wow it must be so bad to be in america rn
I never said I didn't like Obama.
But his administration really hasn't gotten much done with the Republican-controlled Congress, so having Hillary would really be more of the same shit.
