• The apple watch will cost $350 - $10,000. Oh and the new macbook is so thin it only has one usb port

The plastic bands make the watch look like those oversized chinese clones, and the clasp looks fucking ridiculous [t]http://image.sellao.com/201104/img_A_106657_89a3cbae6941672d04d764f96464c8a9.jpg[/t] I guess people can just buy a NATO band for the things for like $10. I still think the Pebble is what smartwatches should be: a cheap companion to your phone with low energy consumption and a screen that's readable in sunlight
why just make it lighter and stronger you jackasses Edit: Now excuse me, but why the dumbs? What's the point of making a pretty damn thin laptop so thin it doesn't even have any useful connectors? USB-C I'm all down for, but just that? As soon as you want to use a nowadays standard usb dongle to perhaps exchange data (or do nearly anything), you need an adapter which is more awkward to carry around than a slightly thicker laptop, even if it's meant to be ultraportable. I guess of it's sort of meant as a netbook or something, but even on my ancient netbook (which had 3 USB, VGA and Ethernet ports) they came really damn handy in special circumstances.
You can get a Rolex for less then 10k. What the fuck you thinking apple.
Only one I/O port. So if you want to charge your computer and use just one external wired peripheral (aside from headhpones) at the same time you're fucked? Many smartphones have better connectivity than this thing.
10k is a great deal I've started financing already
If only the fat acceptance movement was for electronics and not for people
Since when did smartphones have multiple USB ports...
Most smart phones have the USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a video/audio output jack like mini-hdmi or whatever. In relation to the whole connectivity comment you quoted.
I still don't know what to say about apple using a solid plastic watch strap on a ten thousand dollar watch. I'm neutral to this PC/Mac war and I have owned and liked things from both Apple and Microsoft but using a $50 watch strap on a $10,000 watch, I just, I, WHAT THE FUCK. Just HOW is apple this DUMB? I'm just thinking about how many people, committees, and boardroom meetings this went through, how many people thought this was OK. What the FUCK
Most smart phones have the USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a video/audio output jack like mini-hdmi or whatever.
Most smartphones I've seen just have the one port, and if there's any video out its just through the same port, by means of a slimport adapter or something.
Since when did smartphones have multiple USB ports...
I don't know about you but I personally will not settle for less than 8 USB ports on a mobile phone
Am I the only one who is just laughing dramatically.. Who would buy a 10K watch that will probably have some beginner-bugs and comes with plastic (excuse me maybe some other material) bands? Besides that.. Must say I'm impressed with the laptop being so thin... but how is that even useful? And that much more for so little specs http://www.apple.com/mac/compare/ ?

and 400% less useful
and 400% less useful
Never really saw the use of it any how, I mean it's not like a super computer packed in a small package.. It's more a small laptop which can do basic things. Why would someone buy such an expensive laptop with which they can just use word programs and network? (Honest question, not trying to flame) For that money I'd personally go for a higher end laptop

Plus people love apple because of their aggressive marketing/branding.
Pretty sure the new MacBook isn't supposed to replace the MacBook Pro, it's probably more of an Air-type thing
Because it weighs like two pounds, whereas a lot of high end laptops weigh five or more pounds. When you buy a Rolex for that price it's still the same pretty watch. WHO THE FUCK WOULD BUY A 10K SMARTWATCH HOLYSHIT
They just out-thinned the MacBook Air. Not as if I've been protecting this one with my life so far and I've still managed to get small dents along the edge.
Because it weighs like two pounds, whereas a lot of high end laptops weigh five or more pounds. How this Macbook uses a processor with less power consumption but manages LESS battery life than the MBP is beyond me.
See if I was going to spend silly amounts of money on a smartwatch I'd just want a fancy case and a golden chain for my smartphone. Since as far as telling time goes it's practically a pocketwatch already.
the thing is with an expensive rolex watch is that over time, treated with care, it gains value. this is a (first gen) piece of tech with battery parts that age and soon to be out dated software. This will lose value
Don't worry, you can buy this 80$ adapter and plug up to one USB peripheral while your PC is charging.
Because USB-C is a standard that most other manufacturers will pick up soon, you can probably buy a 10$ monoprice adapter in a couple months.
Jesus Christ, Cook's letting Ive run all over the place unhindered. What the fuck.
Androidcentral just did an article on the adapter : "Apple's new MacBook cable costs as much as a Verizon Moto G" http://www.androidcentral.com/apples-new-macbook-cable-costs-much-moto-g
I would not be surprised if this has the same bending issues as the iphone 6. I want heft to my devices.
I get really upset whenever I look at my phone nowadays, just imagining turning on this thing and using it to have a conversation makes me cringe. The fact most phones have followed suit and made their phones touchscreen and thin is comedy at it's finest. I mean they made it thinner so you could have more space in your pockets except you have to now waste more money and space buying a fucking case to protect it from bumps because of how flimsy it is. Can't use the vibrate feature at work to pick up a phone call either because it's inside the case so everyone has to deal with hearing my embarrasing ringtone - oh well. I mean I actually don't mind the touchscreen feature but I think they could do with a numpad as well just so that you can keep the screen nice and clean. Mine's all scratched up just months after buying it and it makes me livid using it at times. tl;dr Apples innovation is annoying and it makes me sad companies copy cat them.
For the average user, it is though. I can't say I really expected to open the terminal just to view hidden files and folders. The capability certainly is there but Windows exposes much of that in a more accessible fashion than OSX.
Windows exposes it in a severely gimped and shitty way that they haven't changed in forever. Control Panel is a fucking mess. I'd much rather use a terminal than this 4 windows and a tiny text box just to edit the PATH variable.
