People will fucking chop arms off just to get that watch
This reminds me how much I LOVE explorer over finder. FUCK finder. It's the worst shit i've ever used.
You only like explorer more because you've used it more, I feel the same way about explorer that you do about finder
This entire conference is the joke of the century.
I seriously don't get this thin fad, I prefer having my stuff more bulkier and less fragile.
I don't mind thin, because in some cases it does look good; however, Apple is really pushing that boundary. For example, I really love the Microsoft Surface 2 + Type Case form factor. It's thin, looks sleek but isn't over the top.
The iwatch is ridiculous. Nothing beats the look, feel and classiness of a nice watch. Although I am interested in that macbook. Been wanting one for my photography and video editing that's more lighter so I can do it on the go, will have to wait until I have my career sorted to afford one though. [editline]9th March 2015[/editline]
Pretty sure the new MacBook isn't supposed to replace the MacBook Pro, it's probably more of an Air-type thing
Maybe I should look into a second hand macbook pro, on second thoughts.
Never really saw the use of it any how, I mean it's not like a super computer packed in a small package.. It's more a small laptop which can do basic things. Why would someone buy such an expensive laptop with which they can just use word programs and network? (Honest question, not trying to flame) For that money I'd personally go for a higher end laptop
because its apple so its better! [editline]9th March 2015[/editline] people think that because it's expensive and sleek, it's a better laptop but only a fucking moron believes this
Buying an adapter to connect peripherals is dumb. I don't think it would have taken much effort to include a second port there. Seems calculated to me. Must be saving it for the Macbook Pro.
80$ cable though, holy HELL for the price of 80$ or less you can buy this http://www.amazon.com/CanaKit-Raspberry-Ultimate-Starter-Components/dp/B00G1PNG54/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1425940987&sr=1-3&keywords=raspberry+pi+2 or an entire motherboard http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard-GA-78LMT-USB3/dp/B009FC3YJ8/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1425940947&sr=1-2&keywords=motherboard which is more technologically complex than an adapter. or 9 to 10 lumps of fake turds http://www.amazon.com/DOMAGRON-Premium-Fake-Poop/dp/B00F1I1MZ8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425941036&sr=8-1&keywords=fake+poo "This is our top of the line poop." it's not 80$'s because you're getting a premium service device that is their top of the line work, it's 80$ because you're being tricked. This is their top of the line poop.
force touch seems really cool [editline]9th March 2015[/editline] and the macbook pros are getting them too, neato
As dumb as everything they announced today is, by far the worst part is that HBO's new standalone streaming service will be exclusive to Apple devices. So yeah, to enjoy it you have to go spend money on Apple TV.
Windows exposes it in a severely gimped and shitty way that they haven't changed in forever. Control Panel is a fucking mess. I'd much rather use a terminal than this 4 windows and a tiny text box just to edit the PATH variable.
Or you can do it from the command line like any other OS: setx path "%path%;c:\whatever" The nice thing about windows is it has a GUI method (sometimes of varying quality, but better than nothing) for doing just about anything. I'd be surprised if many linux DEs offer a way of changing the path variable from GUI, and OSX certainly doesn't
Then again Rolexes have a lot more value than "gold bezel" they have like, extremely precisely machined parts and everything
The precisely machined parts don't really help though, even the most expensive mechanical watch you can find keeps time worse than a cheap plastic quartz watch.
THE $10,000 WATCH EDITION COMES WITH A PLASTIC WATCH STRAP WHAT http://store.apple.com/us/buy-watch/apple-watch-edition
You do realise that's just one of the 4 different band designs you can get with the Apple Watch, right? it's just an example.
honestly if you can spend money on a 10,000$ watch... you probably can buy a new strap without flinching like, you just spent that much on a watch. buying a new strap is going to be a pennydrop away for how much dosh you probably have.
I'm probably just gonna wait for this to release, then watch developers work wildly on making a superior watch, then buy that one. Moto 360 is a good sign.
i don't see the appeal in smartwatches the only thing I can think of is health monitoring and when the teacher says to put away your phone
Literally a tablet with a keyboard. At least most competitors are detachable, but then they wouldn't need the iPad would they.
A tablet with a keyboard? That's super generous to say. There are hundreds of tablets with more power than that. And cheaper too. My dell tablet is about 1.6Ghz ffs.
i don't see the appeal in smartwatches the only thing I can think of is health monitoring and when the teacher says to put away your phone
i don't think many people really get them yet. myself included. to be fair i hate wearing anything on my wrist, but otherwise i still don't see practical use of a smart watch when the phone has to be there anyways
All the ridiculous hate in here, but come on. That notebook might be pretty crap spec wise and all that but dear god that thing is an absolute marvel of design and engineering. Terraced battery cells is a fucking genius idea and you know it.
it's wasteful because the watch is going to be outdated within a year or 2 and with that kind of money you could buy a watch, a house, a car, or a pile of apple watches, or god knows what and also that's 10,000$ spent on a SINGLE watch that has no actual difference from the cheaper ones outside of being overpriced
>Implying that the Edition isn't going to be marketed solely to people who throw around $10,000 like it's nothing

Oh great, Apple just took the Australia tax to new heights. Apple watch with link bracelet (US): $950 Apple watch with link bracelet (AUS): $1400 How the hell is that justifiable in any way? It's almost $300 more than the current exchange rate

It makes it so you won't drop it, you can use both hands(phone on left arm, light in left hand, right hand to text), you keep your pocket free of stuff. It'd be easier to navigate with gps on a walk. I could probably do it by taking a case and making a strap for it tbh, I think I'll look for something once I get my phone smart watch does sound pretty useful in a way, at least
solid gold one starts at 10k u mean and it's type-c aka displayport+usb+power it's basically the best connector ever not gonna lie
It might be a great connector but only having one is pretty silly. I am using 4 USB devices right now, admittedly two of those are input that might not be needed on a laptop but the other two are two I almost always have connected. Shouldn't need to use a hub for such basic requirements.
"bulletproof" laptops already exist in the mil-spec market but believe me, they are NOT cheap. Second to those vendors you have Panasonic and (formerly) Itronix.
No shit? I may have been exaggerating a bit, but I'm dead serious when I say durability, user serviceability, and the OS doing what I want it to do and nothing more are the top three things I require in a laptop. If it doesn't tick all three of those boxes it might as well not exist 'far as I'm concerned.
What an overpriced mirror and membrane keyboard Apple has there. The lack of any useful I/O outside of one, ONE, USB port and rather low range specs is atrocious.
