The parents aren't to blame, taking the keyboard away was the right thing to do. It's just not every day that you encounter a kid mentally sick enough to do such a thing as to kill their father with a hammer and walk away from it to go play a game. Also, lots of kids have a moment where they hate their parents, shit happens. It's part of parenthood.

A kid got in trouble with his parents, this stuff happens, parents took the right measures to punish him, then whatever was wrong in that kid's head triggered and caused this. I don't see why you have to assume a life of bad parenting here.
