I think this is by far one of the dumbest business decisions a company doing.
However, it is still the consumers fault for jumping to the conclusion that no, this was not in fact a computer errors despite the fact that Sony have said nothing about it whatsoever. Sony tend to announce when they are doing big things like this on their stores, it doesn't just happen. Sony never advertised or mentioned it other than now when they realised the error occurred, yeah they're at fault for the error, but it's not their fault video game consumers are some of the most impulsive people on the planet.
I don't think it's reasonable for the customer to sit there and think "Wait, maybe this could be a computer error" every time they go to buy something. Because the natural corollary to having to expect that is that customers need to have a deeply seated mistrust of companies and always assume that something isn't what it seems to prevent being screwed by rare incidents like this. And it's kinda silly to go through a checklist of human and machine errors for a week every time you want to go buy a can of kidney beans. These things aren't common, they aren't the status quo, and it was an error totally out of their hands. Saying that it's customer's faults for not having an uncanny level of vigilance is kind of absurd. Can we please start blaming companies for screwing up instead of blaming customers now? This is exactly what they want us to do.

To be honest they probably should have left it, considering how much it improved their brand in those few days. But I'm also blaming the people who decided that was a good time to buy an expensive piece of hardware. The Playstation stores are pretty regular, they update the same day every week, Sony usually announce big things like bundles of games being made available for platforms, or new platforms being introduced to the downloadable games bit. The fact that these errors aren't common is a good point, we're used to the store being right, especially the Playstation store, can't say I've seen it fuck up hard yet. But buying a Vita, a very expensive console still, basically on impulse that these games are there now is a very silly move. Lots of risk there to be honest.

And again, you don't have Sony to blame for this: The blame is on rights-holders who have a stick up their ass and haven't approved their titles for being placed on the Vita's store yet. It's an unfortunate and awful artifact from the early pre-PSP GO days when the PSP and PS3 had 100% separate ecosystems.
I literally just ordered a fucking Vita too.
The games in question weren't for sale directly from the Vita store. You had to have bought them elsewhere and access them from your account download list on the Vita.
I literally just ordered a fucking Vita too.
The PSP exploits are probably the best route to take there in that case. Unless you really want to return it or something.
I Have a PS3 and all I care about from this is bringing Xenogears to my PS Vita and bringing my save's over to the Vita.?
I still have a PSP, I can play any PSP or PSX game on it since it's got CFW.
You can always use ePSP kernel exploits if you really want to play your PSP games on Vita I do it
this is probably fixed by now though
this is probably fixed by now though
Not yet, there are a few games that can still let you do that. Also is this thread full of people thinking there's absolutely no ps1 and psp games compatible with vita? Sony already advertises and sells them, most PSP games work on vita and a big selection of PS1 games do along with them adding new ones every other week.
sorry for any issue or incontinent, that this may caused
I don't really mind, got $320 worth of stuff for $250, plus my 15+ PS Plus games and FFIX.
What if you've purchased but not downloaded the games or have had to clear space on your memory card? Are the games still available?
