I.. don't think so? I think if you get a 9-11 call of this nature your only instinct is to respond appropriate to the reported threat.
The police did nothing wrong. It was the retard who called 9-11 because an Arab guy was in the hotel lobby and made some bullshit up.

Like I watched the entire video. It's unfortunate what happened but everyone acted professionally and responsibly.
It's the caller who should be held responsible. It's like that one incident where they called the PD to the Wal-Mart because they saw a black guy with a BB gun and called it in as an Active Shooter and got the guy killed.
did you catch the officer throwing the man's phone to the ground and breaking it for no rhyme or reason?

A phone could theoretically be used as a detonator.
that receptionists sister is the definition of xenophobia. someone wearing clothes and has a phone? oh, he looks arab? terrorist.
anyway, i hope the cops dont get too much hate for this, they already have enough. they just tried doing there jobs (except for that one cop who replied a sarcastic response, get rid of your superhero persona.)
Cops were told there was a terrorist somewhere doing bad shit, they responded.
Its not like they could be like "hey dude are you really a terrorist? Yes? GET DOWN. GET ON THE GROUND. DROP IT. GET RIGHT THE FUCK DOWN."
They got 'used' just as the SWAT gets 'used' every time some twitchly little shit SWATs a streamer for shiggles.
No, prosecute the callers for perpetuating xenophobia and racism.
Ohio has felony-level charges for making "false alarms," including false 911 calls. Very possible this could jump past the misdemeanor offense and move to a felony charge considering how flagrant it was. That means 6 months to five years in prison plus a fine. Receptionist is a bigoted idiot that will be fined to some degree and could spend up to 180 days in jail on a misdemeanor charge or between 6 months and 5 years in state prison on felony charges.

Then they should've confiscated it, not thrown it on the ground and broken it.

Older model flip phones can be used as a remote detonator, as well as an explosive device in and of themselves. Watching the whole thing through the police acted in an extremely professional manner, and once it was established he wasn't a threat to anyone, he was back out of their vehicle, cuffs off. The UAE guy's collapse not withstanding, this was the best possible outcome for all involved. The fault doesn't lie with the foreign guy, nor with the police that responded.
So many people being psychotic in here, RELEASE THEIR NAMES (so someone can beat them up or ruin their lives? Fuck off) it's a shifty situation, don't make it worse with INTERNETZ JUSTICEZ HUEHUE
I do think its pretty shit that the victim is now in the public eye at no fault of his own, but the people clearly at fault are hidden.
Internet justice isnt really a solution its more of a general being known thing. The problem with it is that regardless people are going to find out who both the victim is and the caller is and start harrassing them both.
