And by "2012" they of course mean "December 31st at 11:59PM".
Has it been almost four years already? Holy shit. I have not even finished IV yet.
Don't you fucking dare not port it to PC you inconsiderate console-minded fucks!
I enjoyed GTA 4 and SA equally.
please be on PC
2011 and 2012: The years of wallet abuse.
I'm hoping they will include more stuff to do since GTAIV just got boring after you finished the storyline.
I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a fucking console-only game. Just telling by the pattern Rockstar is doing recently (The horrible job on GTAIV PC version, RDR, L.A Noire)
Rockstar wouldn't be a fucking hit today without the PC.

I would honestly be surprised to see it on PC which is a huge shame I would have loved to see Red Dead at a proper resolution
Lets hope for Killing Frenzy's.
If GTAV doesn't have crazy shit like jetpacks and fighter jets in it then I'll take it as an indication that Rockstar no longer wants GTA games to be fun.
If this game doesn't get my attention, I'm buying Saints Row 3 instead because SR3 has this...
Crazy Shenanigans + Physics = :gizz:
Here's hoping they go back to their roots of being the kings of creating a chaotic sandbox world instead of another dark, depressing, and boring world that has a good story but not much of a sandbox game.
I felt they had pretty much returned to their old style with Ballad of Gay Tony.
I want the ability to mod it like in GTA:SA. PLEASE ROCKSTAR.
A lot of space
Literally
Put the game in Houston, let us steal rockets and drive the giant crawler down the street
If it's not going to be for pc, I will lose my respect for Rockstar completely
It better have some good Asshole Physics in there, it's the best way to interact with pedestrians
Having the ability to pick up objects (Aside from GTAIV's styrofoam bricks) and throw them would be great too, just imagine throwing pot plants off a bridge and into traffic
Rockstar, make a good PC port this time. Don't get lazy.
I hope it has those pills which make you punch people really far. And FUN cheats like the one in SA that makes card float away.
Is anyone actually suprised about this?
They pump them out ever 2-4 years.
The thing is that they're all very awesome, good games.
[editline]20th June 2011[/editline]
Also, im counting the episodes seperately and also, remember Chinatown wars, so it is in that timeframe.
I hope the Police AI can actually chase me this time. GTAIV would have been so much more fun with car chases.
Instead, we got cops that apparently are afraid of high speed and refuse to go faster than 60mph.

Why do people keep asking for Rockstar to support modding? Rockstar has NEVER made any kind of modding support for any GTA game and look how well that turned out. It doesn't really matter whether rockstar will do any mod support, the community will make mod tools anyway.
Hidden powerups and guns and good deal of wacky side missions, then keep the DARK AND SERS plot and everyone is satisfied.
What the fuck ever happened to GTA III and Vice City how it was so perfect on PC and now Rockstar are being anti-PC gaming and making shit ports on PC and console exclusive games.
Sigh.

Both GTA3 and Vice City took a while to get to PC so I don't see how it was any different then.
I think i'm the only one who actually disliked SA.
Sure it was fun but for me, the problem is that SA was the jumping on point for quite a lot of people. Not that that is bad or anything, but it attracted the complete idiots to the series, the kind of idiots who would go out and hijack a car then blame gta on it claiming they thought real life was a game.
When gta iv was announced they moaned and griped about the fact that you were
a) A russian foreigner (i know he's serbian)
b) you aren't black (this is a legitimate reason i've heard for not liking gta iv)
c) it's not over the top with crazy shit everywhere
d) it's too realistic.
I can understand people want more or the same but when rockstar started to take a more realistic approach the new fans who just jumped on would have none of it. I was quite glad they didn't have fucking jumbo jets and jetpacks i really loved the realistic take on gta and infact embraced it. The story was fantastic and was written properly with character growth and development, meanwhile SA was mostly just "being gangsta". You went from rags to upper middle class rags, in sa you went from the ghetto to a mansion on every fucking corner.
However, i don't really mind if they do do an over the top gta again, but in moderation. Case in point: Ballad of Gay Tony. BoGT had elements of crazy shit in it but it wasn't completely over the top and batshit insane and dumb. That was great fun.
Holy shit I forgot about how they used to have the army. That was fucking awesome!
Remember when you turned the turret backwards, fired repeatedly and you could fly?! :buddy:

Fighting swarms of military guys in a tank firing the cannon backwards and driving faster than the infernus.

The whole point of GTA is that its over the top and just incredible fun. I disliked GTA 4 because there wasn't enough to do, the craziness was kept to a minimum and there was a story that was trying to be all serious. Also, part of why GTA SA was so much fun was that you could shout "break yourself" and "pop pop" during literally every gun fight.

That's the whole point, GTA is NOT about being as over the top as possible. That was the point of San Andreas. GTA3 wasn't very over the top, Vice City wasn't very over the top, neither were the earlier ones. San Andreas was really the only that went for the batshit insane role and in my opinion, it didn't really work that well. The story wasn't really interesting with not a lot of likable characters (and even then, most of those were only likable because they had amazing voice actors) and it just had so much shit in it that I didn't even care about half of it. I really don't care whether my character is fat or not, I don't care about having to go to a diner and eat every day for any reason other than restoring health and I REALLY don't give a shit about having to take a girl out on some boring date. SA wouldn't even be that bad if it didn't force you to do all of those things just to progress the storyline.
