Grand Theft Auto V development "well under way" says Rockstar

I can't even download IV from Steam. It just says the servers are too busy (and has for the past 4 days) and they're ignoring my support ticket. :downs:
(Yes, I've tried restarting steam AND switching download servers.)
I hope GTA V will have stuff that Saints Row 2 had (I'm not comparing don't bitch). Such as the ability to throw people/make them a human shield, pick up random objects, fly planes armed and unarmed, more buildings to enter without a loading screen or very small when clearly the building has more to it but you can't explore it.
human shields would be cool but I don't particularly like that I can throw people over buildings in sr2
In Saints row 2 I felt like taking poeple hostage in like every situation possible. It should be some sort of last resort, more like in hitman: Blood Money. There should be a penalty like massive police reinforcements
SA wasn't great at all
SA is literally the worst of all of the GTAs. SA is the polar opposite of GTAIV; GTAIV has a good story / atmosphere / voice acting / is a good game. SA has a terrible story / atmosphere / voice acting / is a terrible game.
SA is a complete joke, Vice City and GTAIII (best one) kick the living shit out of it. CJ is the worst protagonist in any game.
i'm all for keeping some of the silliness of GTAIII / Vice City but SA? SA was a blatant appeal to fucking children, the humour in GTAIII / VC was so much more subtle and actually funny
people that like SA are the people who like Family Guy but say they don't on FP to get internet cred. it's the same fucking humour.
this, SA is one of the most overrated games of all time
sure, it's a fantastic game but the story is a load of nonsense for the most part, with vice city being far more valid as a hilarious game with a wacky story and GTAIV being far more valid as a game with a fantastic story and an amazing sandbox
Vice City is better, but I still like SA, now more then ever with MTA and SAMP.

Well I didn't mean like super human.
No. Fuck no. No fucking way in hell. If Rockstar will make the next GTA anything like Saint's Row, I swear to fucking god I will walk to their office and murder every single human being in there. The batshit insane has stuff has absolutely NO PLACE IN GTA.
Yeah how dare funny and crazy things be put in something that has its roots as a comedy game
I don't know about anyone else, but the physics and far better gameplay made the out-of-missions parts far more fun to me than SA ever was.
I liked San Andreas more because it had crazy cheats. Crazy cheats put a lot more replay value into a free-roaming game.

Crazy stuff =/= comedy. GTA was always about giving you an atmospheric city that would be a living parody of real-life and an amazing storyline. SA failed at both of those.

GTA SA was a parody of literally everything in the world. There were three cities that were distinctly reminiscent of real world cities. The atmosphere of cities was replaced by the sheer size of the world so everywhere you went, there was something different.

did you ever actually try to play it as a sandbox? GTAIV is a better sandbox than the other games, it really is
GTAIII is my favourite in the series but to say that it's a better sandbox is dumb; there's no way to escape the police besides bookin' it to a previously established location, the car physics (while wacky) don't allow for much, and you can't get in the water, nothing
GTAIV has better sandbox gameplay hands down, if you play online you recognize that pretty clearly
Technically GTA SA was more of a sandbox in terms of the things you could do.
Why is there still nothing new on Planet GTA? I go to that site because I know they are the #1 site for GTA news. But seriously, they have nothing about this yet. Obviously, sometimes details are too vague, so they don't post anything, but I feel this is substantial news. I hope they talk to Rockstar soon to shed some light.
Cant fucking wait, Rockstar will probably port it to the PC as its probably built off the GTA 4 engine. Rockstar games are always impressive.

No not really, all 3 cities and everything inbetween had the same extremely dull feeling. I did not feel any of the atmosphere of those cities that you'd get from various movies that take place in those cities when that's exactly what they felt like. Las Venturas was probably the biggest fuck up out of all of them, it felt so little like Las Vegas that it was just painful.

probably because it's just confirming what people already knew - that there would eventually be another GTA game

SA was basically the twisted video game version of Boyz n the Hood as seen through the eyes of Rockstar Games.
I'd rather they try to keep it gritty and serious like in IV with V. The only thing that really dragged IV down was the repetitive mission structure: go here, kill this person, go here, return back there; go get this from here, kill these people, return back; go follow this person, kill them, return back; etc. SA was and indeed remains unparalleled in the series, however, by just the sheer amount of stuff you could do, and as well the massive setting. I'd say that Rockstar will definitely add a lot of what it had into V, with plenty of extra content.
I bought Vice City but it doesn't wanna start on my PC :frown: I was looking forward to some real nostalgia and destruction. Alas, only San Andreas will run.
San Andreas just got fucking ridiculous at some points. Using a Jetpack to break into Area 51 (or whatever it was called) and steal a bunch of shit. That is some Saints Row shit right there.
if you didn't have fun with GTA IV then you are probably clinically depressed
I hated the Brucie missions, I know I guy like him, so it really pisses me off hearing him talk.

It was fun, though. That's what matters.
I don't care where or what time it's placed, I just want some goddamn rural areas like SA. Fuck the cities, I wanna drive on dirt roads with a monster truck. :clint:
Don't blame yourself, blame Rockstar North and Rockstar Toronto for making a horrendous port.
With a sandybridge Intel processor, 4gb ram and a GTX 570, it runs very smoothly with high end graphics.
With a sandybridge Intel processor, 4gb ram and a GTX 570, it runs very smoothly with high end graphics.
You'd expect on that to run smooth. It would be an abomination if it didn't.
Since L.A Noire is coming for PC, it would be extremely weird if GTA V didn't.

I want it for the bikes. Whats better than robbing the police of their lives and cars IN A BIKE?!

RDR was built off the GTA IV engine but look at that :P
More recently LA Noire had the PC port confirmed, should be interesting to see if they do a better job porting that.
