Now THIS is funny. Rarely do I get such joy out of looking at the_donald. The less support Donald Trump has, the better.
t_d is an echo chamber and they outwardly state that attempting to disagree will result in your comment/post being deleted and you banned. The gaslighting is coming from inside the house. What I love about the second to last one is the guy's post is: Line 1 - enforce the status quo, do not add new laws, enforce what is on the books and we'll be fine Line 2 - repeal a whole bunch of existing laws and add a new law Cognitive dissonance in action, kids.
Even factual things like "democrats had a lot of wins over the past year"? (you don't hear much of the local level so I don't know how dems are doing at that level) Not having t_d lock when trump got elected like how sandersforpresident locked when Sanders conceded to clinton may have been reddit's biggest mistake.
Personally I don't really see that much outrage for myself considering this meeting is akin to just putting things out on the table. Like something that would probably be backdoor and we just get to witness on-the-spot suggestions that aren't carefully calibrated. I am all for some moderate bipartisan policies that include compromises; Having said that, this is also why I have never been a literalist in regards to Trump's remarks. I think people both on the left and right (T_D is fun to watch atm) repeatedly find themselves disappointed from taking his stances as absolutes or final. Either way, I would like to see something that looks like an actual proposal and bill first. It wasn't only a month or two ago Trump did the DACA meetings and his positions were everchanging in a dealmaking way.
[t]https://i.imgur.com/PZ3h3KN.png[/t]
Hold the fun bus the fuck up. Is this guy seriously arguing to repeal the "you need a license + extra tax to own a machine gun" law? And he's doing that while saying "enforce the existing laws, not make new ones". Bruh if you repeal the NFA, GCA and FOPA, there basically wouldn't be any gun control laws left. We would literally be going back to "pick up a Thompson SMG at the local hardware store" days.
Were you expecting a bastion of intelligence?
I was expecting a room-temperature IQ. Which is what I got. I was just expecting Fahrenheit, not Celsius.
I was expecting a room-temperature IQ. Which is what I got. I was just expecting Fahrenheit, not Celsius.
This is now one of my favorite insults.

You don't think anyone should take anything Trump says seriously?
Either way, I would like to see something that looks like an actual proposal and bill first. It wasn't only a month or two ago Trump did the DACA meetings and his positions were everchanging in a dealmaking way.
There was a bipartisan DACA deal ready to be voted on that would have given the Republicans a sweet heart deal and Trump killed it at the eleventh hour out of urging by hardliners in his cabinet.
“I like taking the guns early,” he said, adding, “take the guns first, go through due process second.”
What's the 5th amendment? This is really scary language coming from the president.
Trump claiming he's gonna use an executive order to ban bump stocks doesn't sound like "just putting things out on the table."
It's actually a pretty convenient way of defending someone you know lies constantly, because if he doesn't actually follow through after explicitly saying he wants to do it because legislative channels are too slow then he was just "putting it on the table".
Guys he was just putting it on the table that we ignore due process. Guys he was just putting it on the table that we round up all the Hispanic looking people. Guys he was just putting it on the table that we execute all the muslims Not sure where I'm supposed to draw the line here...
I refuse to accept any semi-auto ban. Democrat or Republican. That's all I have to say.
Guys he was just putting it on the table that we ignore due process.
Just to double down on this, "They are going to take away your guns without due process" has been the single most used rhetorical device from the American right towards the American left (really center) for the last 30 years and Trump just says it like it's nothing. Just throws it out there. [editline]28th February 2018[/editline] "Bill is gonna take your guns!" "Obama is gonna take your guns!" "Hillary is gonna take your guns!"
Trump: "Lets take their guns"
well you can't take him literally he is a businessman this is how you make deals trust the process.
[editline]28th February 2018[/editline] "Bill is gonna take your guns!" "Obama is gonna take your guns!" "Hillary is gonna take your guns!" I think I understand him now. If anything is a right, he's against it. He's against all rights. Quick, someone tell him that him being president is a right so he'll resign.
So Trump already had all the Democrats in the country against him, but I think now with that "Take the guns first" comment he's just managed to turn all the Republicans against him too. Truly an impressive feat to be so universally hated.
Is this blowing up in the media? If so I'm curious how it will affect trump's approval ratings.
This fell flat as much as I expect an argument about the earth being flat.
You mean the quip was weak?
I think I understand him now. If anything is a right, he's against it. He's against all rights. Quick, someone tell him that him being president is a right so he'll resign.
it took you this long?

"Careful calibration"? If you need a speechwriter to stop Trump from being a wannabe dictator, the fault lies not in the fine-tuning of his words but on himself, and his authoritarian tendencies. By far the most hilarious part, though, is that with this, you might as well admit the speechwriter would make a better president

Oh look its infrastructure week again!
Tudd maybe you supported somebody who has no interest in making America great. Maybe you decided to support someone whose primary interest is enriching himself and others close to him.
Gee what a tremendous surprise, a Manhattan businessman doesn't share rural America's strong opinion on gun rights.
Good to see that Trump can take retarded stances on both sides of the aisle.

Truly an impressive feat to be so universally hated.
I love it. That was the one reason a bunch of single-issue voters chose him. And now that reason is just...gone. We'll have to see how this develops, but I kind of feel like this was his biggest step backward yet.
Yeah this can only be bad, all I can say is don't give your guns to anyone but democrats. We can have gun control, it just has to be for the right reason. Trump never does anything for the right reason.

I want this to be the biggest mistake he's ever made. Please.
Come and take it, statist. Compromise is no longer acceptable. We can no longer watch vultures choose their cuts on a wounded animal.
he isn't gonna have to if republicans keep electing wannabe dictators :y
Didn't like Trump except for the possibility of a brighter future for gun rights and in general gun laws but it looks like instead of him not doing anything like I started to expect he instead is going completely south now. R.I.P. the only remotely positive thing about this man being president.
