In my dictionary, the Dictionary of Mine, it says it can be transferrable.
I'd expect any city around the Great Lakes to be crime ridden.
Surprisingly I heard Toronto is on the low-end for crime this year. I wish someone would tell the news that, all I ever hear about it shootings and stabbings.
That's because when it happens, you hear about it. People like to get sensational when it comes to crime here.
This place has a similar crime rate to Jackson. Vicksburg's a bit lower than this place. (Mississippi)
The running joke here is when we turn on the news, we say "Let's see how many people got shot today!"
Wait, more crime ridden then Surrey?
That can't be possible.
It's funny how Surrey in Canada is considered a shit hole meanwhile it's considered the Beverley hills of the UK, confuses the hell out of me
"It's boring as all fuck if you aren't rich".
So is everywhere else, though.
As a matter of fact, this whole world is boring if you aren't rich.

Not sure why Surrey is regarded as such a shithole, you guys ever been to Downtown Eastside, Vancouver? Now that's a shithole. I've lived in Surrey my entire life and it's pretty chill down here.
Good It's Not Prince George Anymore.

This is Kelowna British Columbia.
After it transitioned into a summer town where most residences were seasonal homes and cabins for people from Alberta or the lower mainland most of the smaller establishments were forced out of town because property taxes went up. In their place were new shops resturants and bars that catered more to more affluent people. Old Mac's Farm on the hill is gone and I believe so is the Hubcap maze.
Also, if you drive through Kelowna in the winter you'll find that there's almost nobody there which is why there are so many B&E's at around the same time. Transients from Calgary wander into town to find places where they can shower, eat and make a few bucks for another ticket and continue on their way to Vancouver where the winter is far more mild.
The plus side to this is they keep out of Kamloops.
I'm actually surprised by the number of people in this thread that have been to or are from kelowna
like woah

I didn't know Surrey was considered a shithole either.

Only place I know where you can get your ass stabbed and robbed on the SkyTrain platform.

My grade 12 history teacher returned to his home in Surrey one day to find a body on his lawn.
And I went to/he teaches at West Van Secondary.
Where in Surrey do you people live in? I've never encountered such problems first hand.

What if someone takes out a gun and shoots somebody near the Sperling station.

It's about a shitty as you can get for a city in Canada, which really isn't that bad. It's had a history of bad domestic violence cases or something though i guess, but overall its a pretty safe city I'd say to live in.
with the exception of maybe a neighbourhood or two

One time I looked at Kelowna on a map on my way to Victoria but decided to stay in Kamloops instead

Downtown East Side had bad poverty issues, but it's a pretty docile and it's a more stable community.
Surrey has a more crime-oriented form of poverty.

I think Whalley is the area that garners the most attention
Was there not too long ago, Kelowna was quite nice. Surprised that it's the "most crime-ridden" city. I felt more unsafe (albeit barely unsafe) in downtown Vancouver then Kelowna.

Honestly, it's the only thing I've ever heard about Surrey. Even at my buddies apartment building, you can see ugly ass whores hanging around the neighborhood at all hours. Not to mention the shit that happens at Surrey Central.

Yeah if only they were pretty whores.
Yeah if only they were pretty whores.
Hey, there are some. They're just usually out in the early evening. They're all ugly once it gets dark out, but then I guess those ones are trying to use the darkness to their advantage.

Isn't Paris a crime ridden city?
