1. You can really only carry it around inside. On the streets this won't protect anyone.
If you see on the news that a neighborhood has a fresh supply of shotguns, how many criminals are going to be stupid enough to try and operate in that neighborhood? The whole point of this is to teach people to defend themselves in their home while letting everyone else know not to try and mess with that neighborhood.

2. If you are following proper gun safety you should have the gun locked up. If someone were to break in you most likely would not have time to get it out.
I have my AK-74 leaning next to my nightstand. If someone comes over I'll lock it up in the safe prior to their arrival, but even if I don't, they know full well not to touch my firearms.

3. Even if you don't have it locked up where can you keep it for easy access? A pistol you can hide pretty much anywhere, but a shotgun can't be stored too many proper places.
A firearm doesn't really need to be hidden to begin with unless you have children or mentally unstable people living with you.
You should load the shotgun based on deadliness, first bean bags, then bird shot, then buck shot, then slug.

No, you should load consistently deadly loads. You don't take risks when someone breaks into your home. Warning shots and LTL loads are only going to endanger you and your family. If he's not already running when he hears you cock it, then hes probably not going to run when you hit him with bean bags.

When you keep the barrel still, you aim to kill.
This will have no effect on anything. I doubt the suburb had any crime to speak of. Just more stupid Southern gun nuts.
If it has no effect on anything and they're so crime free then there's no harm in peace of mind now is there?
man I wish I had a free gun so I could shoot tin cans for fun. not that it's legal in my country to possess a firearm.
Gotta love the young armchair warriors that think people arming themselves to defend their lives and property is stupid.
The idea of police being there in a timely fashion is all good and nice but the reality is you are the only one responsible for your own safety in this world, you just can't always trust someone else to keep you safe from any danger.
So why is it illegal to own, say, an RPG?
You're joking, right?
So why is it illegal to own, say, an RPG?
I wouldn't call a RPG a Personal Defence Weapon unless you have a uncanny definition of Defence.

In the US it technically isn't, it's just really expensive.
