I don't follow your division of all religious people in two extremists and normal people because there are plenty of zealous people who aren't really considered extremists. I don't think all religions make people fanatical but I recognise that there are an equal division of fanatical people on either side rendering all arguments about Islam being a problem in particular useless.

Well, I wasn't dividing them into exactly two groups. My point was that people shouldn't be grouped into one and I pointed those two out as examples. Zealots are of course another group as well.

I think we can agree that radical Muslims are scum, and the moderates are harmless. (Assuming they're actually moderates) I personally think that most moderates are just people unfamiliar with science using religion to make sense of things, at least that's how it works in my family. It's interesting that the only person to take a course in Algebra in high school is the only Atheist in the house.
