I'm sure there are some people donating out of respect for the police force as a whole, and out of concern for the officer and his family. But bigotry is probably the main fuel that drives these donations.

I'm not one to tell people what to do with their money, they can spend it however they'd like but donating this ridiculous sum of money for an officer simply making a judgement call is beyond me. On the other side, I don't get why the fuck everyone is freaking out about this case when there's very little evidence as to what actually took place and people just screaming "fuck that cop shooting an innocent kid, police brutality!!!" show that they don't have the slightest clue as to what's actually going on. And honestly, are we going to make a huge deal about every case where a minority gets shot from now on, even though they (might) have done something to provoke said shooting?
