this is the new scenario for a zombie movie this summer. you heard it here first.
Implying biology is a science. Implying all biologists aren't just parrots.
Implying biology is a science. Implying all biologists aren't just parrots.
This is not 4chan please do not post like it is.
This is why time capsules are useful.
Kind of makes me want to make one. What would I put in it, though?
Implying biology is a science.
But it is.
They've evolved into sentient monsters that'll bring ruin to the world!
Implying biology is a science. Implying all biologists aren't just parrots.
As much as I like chemistry, get out.
Implying biology is a science. Implying all biologists aren't just parrots.
what are you doing. stop that.
"Hmm everyone is talking about smallpox and I don't know what it is because of native language bullshit" Wikipedia: smallpox Image of a child with smallpox all over her NOPE NOPE NOPE
"Hmm everyone is talking about smallpox and I don't know what it is because of native language bullshit" Wikipedia: smallpox Image of a child with smallpox all over her NOPE NOPE NOPE
I know, the image is pretty disgusting. I can only imagine what scientists thought back then. "Ho ho ho, I think it'd be hilarious to put all of the lethal diseases in one container and seal it up!"
I don't think there is a cure for smallpox, there is a cure for the Bubonic Plague though.
Wasent cowpox a cure?
Can smallpox and black death even live that long out in the open?
The black death can be very easily controlled by penicillin.
Wait, smallpox is still a problem? I thought that we have a vaccine for it. Or is it something like the vaccine was so well we eliminated it and no longer hand out the vaccine? Honestly i don't know.

[editline]9th October 2011[/editline]
Wasent cowpox a cure?
Cowpox is harmless to humans but similar enough to smallpox that if given to a human it worked as a vaccine.
It's the Devil's work! He's trying to manipulate you!
Wasent cowpox a cure?
Aye. Inject the cowpox into the Smallpox bumps and it will combat the Smallpox iirc

Suddenly, accidental zombie virus outbreak.
snip wrong thread
Or black plague.
You do know the black plague is still around. Its in northern California.
We have a vaccine but I'm pretty sure we just don't use them anymore since we've basically wiped out the disease.
This worries me.
Maybe in that time frame the bacteria will have grown a culture. :v:
This is pretty epic.
"Hmm everyone is talking about smallpox and I don't know what it is because of native language bullshit" Wikipedia: smallpox Image of a child with smallpox all over her NOPE NOPE NOPE
... Hmm, I wonder what ima-OH GOD NOO! Fuck you, uitham, that shit was disgusting.
... Hmm, I wonder what ima-OH GOD NOO! Fuck you, uitham, that shit was disgusting.
Isnt that what we call waterpokken? You know what every child has had before he reaches 10.
Isnt that what we call waterpokken? You know what every child has had before he reaches 10.
nope that's chickenpox
Oh fuck, What if it mutates into another superbug? This is genuinely scary. [editline]10th October 2011[/editline]
I know, the image is pretty disgusting. I can only imagine what scientists thought back then. "Ho ho ho, I think it'd be hilarious to put all of the lethal diseases in one container and seal it up!"
It wasn't LETHAL diseases, Just common bacteria.
Then the word vaccine came from the Latin word for cow, "vacca" or something, I don't know exactly
It does, since cowpox was the first vaccine. And yes, "vacca" is the Latin word for cow. (at least that's what I've been told in my Latin classes) [editline]10th October 2011[/editline]
This worries me.
I don't know about other countries but during the Cold War the US made large stockpiles of vaccines to viruses like smallpox since we and the Soviets were both worried about biological warfare, and smallpox was seen as a very likely disease for us in a biological attack (along with anthrax), so we still have large stockpiles in case an outbreak comes. I would just be worried about the first person who gets it, after that the majority of others would probably be vaccinated again.
My mom has the scar from her smallpox vaccination as a child. They could seriously not get it any more fucking scary, it was like 9 needles arranged in a circle and injected simultaneously or some shit.
If there is a difference, will this provide valid evidence of evolution?
Evolution has already been observed in bacteria. Evolution is already a proven fact, there is no debate about its validity other than from nutjob Christians.
