I hope more developers start using CryEngine 3 instead of Unreal 3.5.
Good thing I get my new PC soon... else my old PC would catch on fire for sure....
If this can run on consoles I doubt it.
I saw a comparison of CryENGINE 2 and 3 on the first level of Crysis. CE3 actually looked much worse and gibs disappear after a few seconds. Also CE3 has a shorter view distance..
This is all because they want the game to be played on consoles also so they improve performance by getting rid of stuff we like.
Fuck you console gamers.
are you retarded?
That looks great, best thing was that it wasn't just "guy in suit kills aliens/monsters", it shows that the engine can be used for different settings while still looking awesome (Which you'd think would be obvious, but so many of these engines get used in different games with the same damn setting)

n1. that was a comparison between the CONSOLE versions of the game to the PC, and remember hardware limitations on the Xbox such as 512mb of RAM. The PC version will be pretty much the same, if not better.
Really? Worser than 2nd one? This engine looks better than real life!
"
CryENGINE 3 also introduces CryENGINE 3 Live Create. It allows developers to work with a single editor, but see and play the results in real-time on PC, PS3 and Xbox360, hooked up to a single dev PC"
Sounds like cross-platform play would be just one more step away for cryengine 3 games...
I can't wait to get my hands on this editor. :excited:
Fucking beautiful. Wow.
Could I run this? I run Crysis fine (everything maxed out)
ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB DDR5
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ 2.80GHz
3GB RAM
Something tells me that isn't going to cut it.

Also procedural destruction holy shit awesome.

Yet a console with 4 year old hardware can?

Get quad core.
I wonder if I can run this. :C
Nvidea GForce 9800GTX 1GB RAM
Intel EN8600 2x 3,33Ghz.
8GB Ram (64-bit OS)
Get quad core.
I've come to accept that my processor is fairly shit.
More people will probably end up using it now it's cross platform. It'll probably stop the industry obsession with the not-that-great UE3.
Some people may disagree, but if EPIC went off Unreal and used this engine for the next Gears of War, it'd be amazing.
You guys also need to note the different parts of that video.
Next Gen Ready - Either next-gen consoles or upcoming PC hardware
PS3 - Scaled down (slightly) of what your PC can currently do
XBox 360 - Scaled down (slightly) of what your PC can currently do
My graphics card is sobbing in a corner.

Current PC hardware :smug:

I think the PC version of CE3 will be different from the console versions.

The video claims "what you see is what you play" from PC to both 360 and ps3 all using the same CE3

It's not like the engine is a WIP or anything
It's not like the engine is a WIP or anything
He's just saying that CE3 is designed with consoles in mind.

If you look close at that, then notice that at the top thing showing PC footage you can see the branches on the trees in the far distance, on the two underneath showing console footage you can't.
The textures on that hill also look more detailed.
Oh Yeah.
At Christmas my computer will be fully upgraded and ready to run this bad boy!
now, pair this up with a decent game and you've got a top seller
This
Timesplitters 4 might be made on that engine...

Hammer isn't shitty. :(
But it does look pretty awesome.
Get quad core.
HAH. Octo Core is better with factory overclocked to 4.0 GHz.
