Can't wait to run that on my 8600. Not.
Beautiful... but where's my next Crysis?! I still need to know where Prophet was during nomad and Phsycho's adventures.
Fix'd
Who's Phsycho?
Damn school for blocking the website.
Remember how Crysis looked in the Tech demo video and how it looked ingame in the retail release?
Yes, they looked the same for everyone with a $2000 computer.
Wow. That's all I can say.
Fix'd
psycho... oops, my bad.
I saw a comparison of CryENGINE 2 and 3 on the first level of Crysis. CE3 actually looked much worse and gibs disappear after a few seconds. Also CE3 has a shorter view distance.. This is all because they want the game to be played on consoles also so they improve performance by getting rid of stuff we like. Fuck you console gamers.
that was a video from when the engine was first unveiled
My eyes just had an orgasm. :psyboom:
If you look close at that, then notice that at the top thing showing PC footage you can see the branches on the trees in the far distance, on the two underneath showing console footage you can't. The textures on that hill also look more detailed.
Maybe the graphics are leveled down, but the engine is the same on all 3 that is confirmed.
Welcome to the future (talking about that editor because it automaticly optimises).
Remember how Crysis looked in the Tech demo video and how it looked ingame in the retail release?
Yeah, less eye rapey still damn pretty.
Oh my holy fucking shit. Crytek, you have done it again. [editline]04:22PM[/editline] This just made Crysis look ugly, and Crysis is still the best looking game out right now.
Wow, When it showed character animations I thought it was going to show a comparison of the old guys face until I realised that it was the animation.
Yet a console with 4 year old hardware can?
You can't compare them together in any probably way. The way the pipelines in engine are set, the way instructions are programmed, it's very hard to make any suggestion to the requirements of CryEngine 3.
Is it just me or do portions look absolutely horrific? Like with the overview of all of those buildings [editline]07:51PM[/editline] aha whenever a console's name is in the corner it looks shit, that's why I suppose
Absolutely incredible! And Crytek, TS4 Better be made for PC.
I remember my first reaction to Cryengine 2 was :fappery:. Cryengine 3 is :flashfap:.
Absolutely incredible! And Crytek, TS4 Better be made for PC.
what is ts4?
what is ts4?
Time Splitters.
4
Can't wait for 2010! Phenom II X6 and CryEngine 3 here I come! Offtopic: Phenom II X6 will support both AM3 and AM2+ sockets :D
Maybe the graphics are leveled down, but the engine is the same on all 3 that is confirmed.
Yeah ofc but that's not quite what you said
procedural physics
I jizzed. [editline]03:54PM[/editline] hard.
I just wish that they hadn't jumped on the desaturation bandwagon. Crysis's colorful environments made it stand out against all the brown and grey that all "realistic" games are these days. Also, how much you want to bet that the "procedural physics" are on only specified objects for about half the game, much like Crysis's "Fully destructible buildings and trees"
Well, there still was a lot of shit that you could destroy in Crysis, and I'd hope that to be expanded on in the new engine. Of course there will have to be progress-relevant areas that you can't fuck up entirely.

It might just be because they're showing off what the engine can do.
At first I was like :aaaaa: Then  Then :Dawkins102: When I realised my graphics card would collapse into a singularity should it ever even consider trying to play it.
I wonder if I can run this. :C Nvidea GForce 9800GTX 1GB RAM Intel EN8600 2x 3,33Ghz. 8GB Ram (64-bit OS)
In other words: Guys there i haven't got any attention today so i am going to let you see my specs and then you guys are supposed to say "Yes you can." so i feel like im not invisible for once in my life. Of course you can fucking run it you noob.
Cool, now with the Crytech 3 engine, I no longer need to pay for heating! My GPU and CPU can now dual function as a furnace and home-heating unit!
