16 gigs.
How do you guys count your fps in the game?
Count how many frames you can see in a seconds

Had my thoughts of it.
Ever since the drivers for Nvidia from February to now seem to make GTA's shadows flicker like crazy. Does anyone else have this?
Fuck. Yes.
Why do my shadows still look all fuzzy? Has the Steam version been updated?
There's no moon too.
Performance boost my ass.
What the hell? I went from getting decent performance with everything on highest before the patch to a fucking lagfest after it... Anyone else getting this?
Specs: i7 920 @ 3.6GHz, 4870 1GB, 6GB ddr3

Yeah, same thing happened to me. I have a i7 860(stock clocks), 5770, 4 gb of ddr3 ram, anyone know what happened?
Luckily I backed up my original installation beforehand :P I use mods anyhow so I think I'll wait until they release a fix.
I removed it straight away out of disgust although I saw someone noticed something to do with core affinity on GTAForums which may help you. Right click GTAIV.exe process in task manager when it is running and go to Set Affinity and tick all that are unticked if any.

Well, i got a nice performance boost.
Specs aydin?
Well that patch has halved the frame rate I used to get, gj Rockstar.
Also some other stuff you might wanna take note of, you may wish to scale the draw distance back as originally it only went up to 32 hence the performance drop if you put it to full after the patch...

Changing the settings make no difference, I set everything to it's lowest and it still ran at about 20fps.
My game went from a smoothish 25- 40fps on lowish settings to 7fps on low, 5fps on medium, and an astonishing TWO FRAMES EVERY SECOND on high.
The flying fuck? It'd be quicker to send off for a photograph of each frame than try and play.

I was going to buy the episodes too, but if this is how they'll run you can fucking forget it.
For you guys having issues with your FPS being butchered after this patch, try scaling back your settings from very high to high on shadows and night shadows. I have a Core i7, 6GB RAM, and a 275 OC edition and it runs so much better with those two things turned down.
The shadows that are supposed to optimised actually kill performance dead, it seems. I get a choppy 10-20FPS with them enabled and if I turn them off completely performance goes to better than it was for the previous patch.
My performance went from 2-10 FPS to 20-40 (everything maxed). I'm happy with this patch.
Any chance I'll be able to play with an FPS above 25 now?
Why are the reactions always so mixed with these patches?
Any why are they only on PC?

Who would patch xbox nowadays?

And it's not like the console players are complaining about framerate, GFWL, RGSC, multiplayer cheats, hardware config errors or how their shadows look.
I'm tempted to reinstall this (retail version) but I have yet to put securom back on my computer and I'm hesitant to do so.
