HMM... maybe... only one game was voted for the "cliffhanger" vote.. so it was impossible to make it a category huh, nope that can't be it
I don't get this, is this just some re-directed hate for Hl2:EP2 not being on there? There's a ton of genuinely good nominations and games in there. I don't personally support Valve's business practices but calling the games themselves shit is a bit overboard. Magicka, Stardew Valley, Undertale, Garry's Mod, The Witcher 3, Keep Talking, Rocket League Like, there's a bunch of really good games on there. What's with the saltiness?
- Best Use of a Farm Animal: Blood and Bacon, Goat Sim - I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award: Unturned Yeah ok, tons of good games indeed. /s
I didn't mean to give the impression that just because we nominated it, we want it released asap, I just want an official update from Valve regarding it.
The problem is is that if that official update isn't anything other than "we're working on it" people are going to be majorly pissed. And to not sound pessimistic, I think the official update would more than likely be "we're not working on it." Then again, there has been work on sequels to franchises long thought dead after a long time (such as Shemue 3), so... I guess it really depends, honestly, on if someone in Valve has the motivation to do it.

Which is something they prefer doing, if memory serves, mostly due to TF2 iirc.
You using it to vent anger when they ignored what in all likelihood was a small movement of maybe a few thousand among the millions of steam users is ridiculous. That being said, im upset that Skyrim is in the "test of time" section and Doom isnt.
You're acting as if Valve gives us vehicles each day to get their attention. They collected the data, they saw the community outreach, they obviously know it has nearly been a decade..Is it really ridiculous to be upset?

Because this is for letting the community give out video game awards, not a soapbox for you to yell at them about your desired sequel.
Well screaming "WHAT A SHIT COMPANY" isnt gonna get you anywhere i reckon.
Never said Valve was a shit company. I said their cash grabs with microtransactions are shit.
There's nothing wrong with being upset but making it out that they're one of the worst companies ever in gaming is way, way too extreme.
Never said Valve was a shit company. I said their cash grabs with microtransactions are shit.
What you said blurred into what the other guy said, but still, the hell does that have to do with anything. You brought it up just to complain about it.
Never said Valve was a shit company. I said their cash grabs with microtransactions are shit.
Cash grabs that are completely irrelevant to the game play that no one actually has to buy.
Cash grabs that are completely irrelevant to the game play that no one actually has to buy.
Werent gloves something people were actually asking for, anyway?
Werent gloves something people were actually asking for, anyway?
Yes. Some were upset over they way you get them, but that died out in less than a day.
“Best Use Of A Farm Animal” Award and no Hotline Miami??? Are you kidding me?
Now I have absolutely zero interest in the award proceedings.
I expected "Best Use of Farm Animal" to be Major/Minor or CSGO Steam is the 9gag for games
I expected "Best Use of Farm Animal" to be Major/Minor or CSGO Steam is the 9gag for games
I personally put in stronghold crusader for obvious reasons.
I expected "Best Use of Farm Animal" to be Major/Minor or CSGO Steam is the 9gag for games
im disappointed worms wasn't shortlisted
- Best Use of a Farm Animal: Blood and Bacon, Goat Sim - I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award: Unturned Yeah ok, tons of good games indeed. /s
Wow, people have differing opinions from you, imagine that. Just because you don't like some of the games on there doesn't mean a bunch of other people do. Unturned is one of the top Free to Play games on Steam right now averaging ~20,000 consistent players and reaching upwards of 30,000. So it shouldn't be hard to imagine why it's being put up for an awards given its popularity. I'd go through and justify the others but its the same general premise. You don't speak for the majority.
All 3 of those are fucking shovelware greenlight garbage. These awards have no standards, it's all memes.
I'm sorry whatever game you were expecting to get on there didn't make it, but it clearly did not win the nomination vote. A bunch of these games make complete sense for the categories they were put in and it looks like you're trying to justify your own opinion of the entire awards on a single case of a few Greenlight games making it into the running. In fact, the vast majority of these games aren't Greenlight and quite a few are even Triple A. Just because the three you handpicked happen to be Greenlight doesn't make the rest (or even the ones you chose) bad games. It just means you personally don't like them. Which is fine and you're entitled to your own opinion, but it's literally a popularity contest and whatever games you thought should be on there lost fair and square.
Disappointed that LISA wasn't on the “I’m Not Crying, There’s Something In My Eye” award
I would have thought much older games would have been in the Test of Time category. I mean there's one but the rest are pretty "recent". Like I know they're still years old but I thought there would be much older games.
Like, do people not realize this list was created from the nominations of Steam users? The worst you could say is the custom categories that Valve did pick were shit, but that is assuming that Valve hand picked them and it wasn't, "These categories all got a shitload of votes for these games, they're close enough, include them all." Blame other Steam users, Valve didn't make these calls.
why is TF2 the oldest game in the "test of time" award? what the fuck? why is terraria in two categories? people still play terraria???
why is TF2 the oldest game in the "test of time" award? what the fuck? why is terraria in two categories? people still play terraria???
Its like minecraft with guns
why is TF2 the oldest game in the "test of time" award? what the fuck? why is terraria in two categories? people still play terraria???
Well they're still updating Terraria and adding new content for it, why wouldn't people play it?
All 3 of those are fucking shovelware greenlight garbage. These awards have no standards, it's all memes.
Did you really except people to take a category called "Best use of a farm animal" seriously?
why is TF2 the oldest game in the "test of time" award? what the fuck? why is terraria in two categories? people still play terraria???
Terraria actually got a big update like last month. I'm just surprised to see Undertale only appeared once.
A pretty accurate summation of my rocket programs in that game. Got a launch record even the North Koreans cringe at.
I've had my fair share of RUD as well. Half the fun of that game is building something ridiculous, trying to fly it, enjoying the fireworks, then refining it until it does in fact fly. And explosive staging. And semi-controlled lithobraking. And re-entering space stations. ...makin' me want to play again, but the tracks aren't updated yet. AGarrrgh

Depending on how much control Valve had over them, it's totally likely that any of the joke/protest categories would have just been dumped. I mean I didn't expect any of them to make it past that stage but it still feels like opinions of the community got discarded there.
Shit nominations, shit awards, shit company.
Valve didn't pick the nominations and games the community did. You need to calm down and realize you're angry about something that isn't even their fault.
