i still can't believe Hotline Miami didn't make it into Farm Animal stuff.
The “Test of Time" Award -Team Fortress 2
You mean that rotting corpse in the closet?
I don't see why that's not true. Unless you let cosmetics get in the way of gameplay or something. But then again if there were cosmetics you'd be playing in a public server and not lobby.
Depends on what you find good. I remember going in the commentary tracks of tf2 and learning how the developers aimed to reduce visual clutter and make sure that everything in the game would be easy to understand just by taking a quick glance. With all the new weapons and weird and at times gimmicky features they have I could hardly expect a new player to make sense of everything that is going on on-screen without some kind of explanation as to what the hell is going on.
the ARK: Survival Evolved devs are offering content in exchange for steam award votes http://steamcommunity.com/games/346110/announcements/detail/536324417612602461
I read that they are adding them either they win or not. But I can be mistaken. It would be deserved if focused more on optimization imo.
I read that they are adding them either they win or not. But I can be mistaken. It would be deserved if focused more on optimization imo.
They edited it to clarify that it would be added no matter what. Originally it said they'd only add the sheep if they won
That's actually a really scummy thing to do. I hope they dont win
That's actually a really scummy thing to do. I hope they dont win
That's not even their first time, ARK in general just has scummy written all over it (selling DLC while still being in early access etc).
(selling DLC while still being in early access etc).
Didn't they do that to pay off a lawsuit? Which even makes it even shadier if true.
Most of the award winners have me kinda confused. How did dumb meme goat simulator beat Stardew Valley in the best use of farm animal and skyrim, the newest game on the Test of time won which is pretty lame (granted all of the nominees were fairly new but still)

This sorta stuff is all about exposure and name recognition, if skyrim or GTAV were in more of the categories they would have been highly likely to win.
I knew the winners were gonna be shit, but wow. It was the worst possible outcome.

[editline]31st December 2016[/editline] I also blame Steam for giving out cards for voting which encouraged people to vote even if they gave zero fucks about any of the games.
I knew the winners were gonna be shit, but wow. It was the worst possible outcome.
Yeah I'm not even sure there was a single one I agree with - maybe one or two that would have been my second or third choices...
Gmod should of won "game within a game". Fuck GTA V.
At least Doom won Boom Boom
Yeah I'm not even sure there was a single one I agree with - maybe one or two that would have been my second or third choices...
imo none of the games nominated even deserved their nominations.
Garry's Mod could've won the "Game Within a Game" award if it was as well known as GTA V. I'm surprised Eurotruck Simulator won two categories.
Of course, nearly all of Valve's games won. No surprise there.
Why do people think it's rigged?
Why do people think it's rigged?
Because of a variety of reasons, but a few of the most common are: a) not realizing this was basically a popularity contest and the categories mean nothing - it's voted by the public, not a panel of experts and b) their favourite game didn't win.
Of course, nearly all of Valve's games won. No surprise there.
There's 12 awards and Valve won 3, what are you talking about? And if you mean all the games they made, that's not right either. Half-Life 2 and all episodes, Dota 2, and Team Fortress 2 all lost, and that's not even counting the first games in the series like Portal, Team Fortress, Counter-Strike, Half-Life, and Left 4 Dead.
Ah yes, Skyrim, truly a classic game.
Didn't they do that to pay off a lawsuit? Which even makes it even shadier if true.
Yeah okay try finishing a game the size of Ark after you've lost 40 million dollars in a lawsuit because the husband of one of your employee's is a fucking idiot.
At least Doom won Boom Boom
Sad that there's no Basil Brush game.
