Wow, I had no idea this shit was happening down in the states too
You guys need to fight this
there's nothing anyone can do about it
With Shaw, over here in Vancouver, BC I've been stuck with a 250GB cap for a while now.
Canada's restrictions aren't in effect yet. Shaw's a bunch of cocksuckers, but aside from them, the article's wrong. Also, Spartan, my cap's just 60GB, and that's all my folks and I can afford. You're the lucky one :P
125GB cap here, Vancouver. To be honest, it's hard for me to hit that unless I really want to download Portal 2 12 times over.
I'm on time warner right now. I think they were on the verge of imposing caps, but they never did.
I'd hate it for a big cap to be on my browsing.
I live in Aus and have a 200gb cap every month, its never given me any trouble I dont download to much and neither does my family so we havent had a problem with a cap.
Hey, in New Zealand it's $70/month for a 25GB cap. Count yourselves lucky.
Thank god i have time warner, although my family wants to switch over to something else, how is Fios?
it's funny. aussies used to be so jealous of the plans you could get in america. decent speeds and no cap (or at least more than 10GB/m) at a decent price.
now in aussieland we pay $29.99/m (US$33/m) and we get unlimited internet and a 24Mb/s connection.
how times have changed

Problem solved.
Oh no guys, I only have a 250g cap! There's no way I can stay under that measly amount.
I have 80 gigs, and over here in New Zealand that is quite a bit.
Good thing there are enough uneducated white trash, old money hicks around my area with open WiFi connections with no passwords.
Buy a new game? Sit on my front porch and download it from the Jones's connection.
Stop crying, I have a twelve gig plan.
I will not be railroaded into paying for usage based billing. Bellsouth is the only ISP in my area.
I'll be calling them on Monday and informing them that I'll be canceling my account if this shit continues.
I can live without the internet, and they won't be getting my money for this service.

Bold words, but we'll see if you'll still be posting any time soon.
Comcast's limit, put into place after it got caught secretly throttling peer-to-peer traffic, is 250 GB - which the company says less than 99 percent of users hit.
Every ISP says this and I don't know why some people buy this bullshit. As if they would ever spend the man hours and money to get such a cap implemented if only 1% of their customers go over the specified amount.
Of course meanwhile at your ISP:

I'm on a 60GB cap. You guys are fucking lucky.
Way ahead of you.
Not really, who would use AT&T? :v:
People in regions wherein they are the only available ISP.
I have no clue why, but people want these caps. When I posted warning about it over a month ago, everyone unanimously told me to shut the fuck up and take the caps.
Im in australia and i have 200gb a month 24mbit down connection for 90$ a month
im happy
[editline]30th April 2011[/editline]
if anyone is wondering my ISP is Internode
Right now i'm glad that i live in a small european country and don't have to deal with any of this bullshit. And i really hope the local ISPs don't get on this cap bandwagon.
I live near Vancouver as well, have Shaw, never actually hit the cap or have been affected by it. Internet isn't good but it's not bad either.
Hey wow. this will be how Australian internet will be once it is fast enough to download at any kinds of speed.
I have Comcast.

24Mb/s on unlimited?
Shit, who are you with? I get 3Mb/s and 700gb
I live in Vancouver and am on Shaw and have no cap whatsoever. 15mbs up 2mbs down.
Fuckin' hell I wouldn't mind 150 or 250gb, especially when I have 10gb and my friend has 20, here in NZ.
Hey guess what for me i have a 10gb cap for $130 AUS a month and i have to put up with it.
Also, randomly jumps between 7 - 100kb/ps speed.
Telstra can go fuck itself.
AT&T's new limits - 150 GB for DSL
OH, THAT'S JUST FUCKING SWELL.
Now there's pretty nothing I can brag about regarding my internet. Awesome, just awesome.
-snip- Automerge broke.
WHAT THE FUCKING SHIT.
My family just switched to AT&T so Time Warner would stop sodomizing us. :argh:
SAME SHIT HERE!
