Oh gotcha. I don't know why they wouldn't give that percentage. Thats kind of what the article is about.
Whats the point of throwing out that 45% of 500 people are gamers when the article is about gamers are more likely to be fat and depressed?
Yeah I was confused as to why they didn't feel like saying the second percentage.
Probably because it's not big enough to be exciting
Journalists and science are not usually a good mix

Yes but the 'more likely' is not nuanced at all. For all we know, if the findings were only 0.1% higher than the norm, they are still allowed to say more likely.
I call bullshit on this report. I'm a gamer, but I live a healthy life.

Well then you're in the other percentile mentioned.
ITT: TH89 Hypocritically calls people fat.
I especially like how they didn't test only gamers. All this shows is that fat and miserable people are more likely to game.
stop using the word game as a verb
it is a noun you fucks GOD

At least I'm not a "gamer"

Lol. Like a gamer is a huge disability.
To be a gamer doesn't increase your risk of heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
To be a gamer doesn't degrade your image of yourself (May not in your case but does in a high percentile)
Being a gamer is fun, but being fat is not. (Except in ralphie may's case)

That game comment was so weird.
Adjective, what now bitches.

Being a gamer is fun in the same way that being a heroin addict is fun
Lies, at the LAN parties I go to, there are no fat people. They're all skinny people with black hair and awesome hats.
But that's austin, most people here are fat but don't play video games.
Maybe it's the opposite here.
Being a gamer is fun in the same way that being a heroin addict is fun
But Heroin IS fun, I prefer Crystal Meth, personally.
Being a gamer is fun in the same way that being a heroin addict is fun
Oh yes, because gaming has a high risk of death and overdose. Gaming also has the risk of giving you aids and other blood to blood viruses and diseases from using someone elses keyboard.
I know what you were going for by the way they do share the same principle of escape from reality, but gaming doesn't get you physically addicted etc etc.
There are many ways heroin is bad i don't plan on listing them all.

You don't need to be physically addicted to be addicted to something
And being a gamer has the risk of making people think Ctrl-Alt-Delete and 4chan memes are funny, and generally be annoying little shits

Let's put it this way, more people who do heroin are both physically and mentally addicted to an escape that could easily kill them that is both illegal and highly dangerous.
Oh yes, the personality of a heroin abuser trumphs a gamers personality ten-fold.
Are you really trying to put heroin users on the same level as gamers?

Holy shit I need help before this gets too bad

Of course not, I'd much rather hang out with heroin users
Suddenly, dumb ratings, everywhere!

That didn't make any sense at all... That's like saying "People who drive cars have the risk of thinking they're racers"
You're comparing hobbies (gaming) with the stupid personality / lack of good humor of some people.

You don't think personality influences choice of hobby?
Surprise Surprise

Hobbies most certainly effect your personality.
Ex. people who play soccer talk more about soccer and things relating to it.
Ex. skaters who think they are tough shit because they hang out with other skaters.
I don't know fuck.
And this is news how?
People refering to themselves as gamers are idiots anyway. Like it's a profession or something.
actually, it can be.
You don't think personality influences choice of hobby?
What I think is that this sounds like a big stereotyping joke.
I know a lot of people who play games, have lives, get out, are in shape.
One more think, they only asked 19+.... What about all the teens and children? I think they are a majority in games.
This could also be true for accountants, programmers, and anyone who sits at a desk all day. Linking it directly to gaming is a stupid notion.

Read what TH89 said, what I meant is that for example, there could be a soccer player who has a good humor and is friendly and one is a complete moron.

Who linked it to gaming?
