Well for one, I've been privileged to see how terrible our healthcare is run, the horrible consequences of our social programming and how much money we waste on them. What pains me more is the taxes I have stolen from me to pay for this programming that I don't use, the healthcare where I sat in the hospital for 5 hours before the bleeding stopped on it's own and I went home, the garbage service that runs once every other week and which the workers strike all the time, causing the parking lot to our recreation centre 4 blocks away to turn into the temporary garbage dump that stinks up the neighbourhood. Having our public transport charges go up in price almost every year.
I highly doubt the hospital story, nowhere in the world would you be left bleeding in the ER for 5 hours. You're either exaggerating the severity of the injury, the wait time, or just making it all up. Our ER wait times are comparable to those of every first world country. It's elective and cosmetic procedures that bring our numbers down and serve as fodder for the far-right. But if you insist on your anecdote, I'd be happy to provide my own praising the healthcare system we have. They'd be equally admissible.
The striking workers is something you should be proud of as a working-class citizen. Having the right to protest unfair work conditions by unionizing is one of the greatest benefits of living in a democracy. If you want to blame someone for the strike blame the people running the garbage service, not the workers.
I don't use public transport so I won't comment on that.

There are many government-funded programs for the disabled. Your mother happens to work at a private one. This proves nothing.
I find it funny that that's the best defense against an anecdotal story about my experience with our healthcare system.
aint an anecdotal story if it aint true pal!
Tell that to the guy sitting next to me playing cards who had a nail through his hand and was there from the night before. Or the diabetic old lady who complained for 2 hours that she was promised something to eat before eventually getting a half sandwich.
I broke my leg, compound fracture. Bone was an inch and a half through my leg, and was close to severing the main artery in my leg. I went to the hospital, was treated within 15 minutes. Wasnt out for a few days however, due to the severity of my wound.
They deal with life threatening and extreme circumstances first. You will get treated, and you will likely be treated in fair timing.
ClinicalThought, you still haven't defended your "minorities should fuck off" views. Care to do that now?
he's not a really good libertarian if he doesn't know what a social contract is
Not to mention that the wait times can be just as bad in the US. There have been times where I've gotten treated really fast and other times where it took several hours to get any attention. Sometimes shit happens and you can't blame any system for not being perfect.

Well I had only cut off the tip of my thumb, never said I had a gunshot wound. The extent was maybe 80% of the nail and down enough so that I could see darkness that was the bone beneath the thin bit of tissue left. Also I find it funny that you tote the strikers as having "unfair work conditions". Sanitation workers are the laziest fucks ever, they work fewer hours on fewer days, make more than Police, and were on strike because they wanted to be able to bank sick days to retirement, where some people were going to be able to cash them in for hundreds of thousands of dollars. And don't go on about how they have to handle my trash, they don't anymore, we put that shit in a plastic bin and a fucking machine on the side of the truck dumps it in. If the bin has too much garbage or isn't placed conveniently then touch luck, you have to wait next two weeks so you can now throw out a portion your months stockpile of garbage.
I'd be happier with my school if it was properly funded and the curriculum wasn't bullshit.
Also this private one is the only recreation centre/gymnasium that specializes in servicing the disable in the city.
It irks me how many people in this thread fucked up Ron and Rand paul. Ron paul is not involved here. It is just Rand.

Anecdote #2: Back when my grandfather died and I was helping clear out his house to be sold, I had an asthma attack and was taken to Belleville's hospital where I sat in my own little ER room for what was probably about an hour though it seemed like the entire night before the one doctor on shift made his way round to hook me up to a machine. This is a task that took about 25 seconds.
Years later I read this http://www.nowpublic.com/world/man-dies-winnipeg-emergency-room-after-waiting-34-hours

There are horror stories in every system. Ours is no different in that fact. No system will run flawlessly. I entirely doubt the ability of a private system to handle it either. While yes it is a shame these things happen, more money to the system could help alleviate these burdens on the system.

I'm not sure if my math or science is right, but I believe 34 > 15, and suffocation is more serious than stomach pains.

Apparently not if it took 15 hours for the man in Dallas to die.
I'm not sure if my math or science is right, but I believe 34 > 15, and suffocation is more serious than stomach pains.
And how exactly does this make the Canadian fuckup any worse? Why is 15 hours a more acceptable wait time than 34? I think once you pass 2 or 3 it's completely unacceptable and adding time doesn't make it any more so.

Wouldn't something else be defined with a different term and, by definition, not be a libertarian? Sure, you can be socially or economically libertarian but when you don't qualify it like that you imply both.
Bill Maher most closely fits the definition of a traditional liberal.

No it doesn't, I said it was just my experience with it, and I used it to support why I don't like the program. I just find it funny that some people would like to believe that I am lying to strongly they will claim I am lying with no actual evidence against me. Of course I have no evidence to support it aside from my word, it's just funny that he accuses me of lying outright.

But being socially libertarian, and fiscally libertarian are very different things, I scarcely consider them to be part of the same political view point.
