Was this deal made by the grots or something? "We tradid da roits fur summ shoiny finks."
They basically put all the homosexual romance characters on a single planet. It's one of those things that probably had good intentions behind it but came off as kind of screwed up.
Oh yes I heard about that, the gay planet. Probably ended up coming off more dignified than most of the actual story though.
i want an imperial guard game space marines get all the attention even tau get more attention
I think a game with the Night Lords would be p fucking cool
i want an imperial guard game space marines get all the attention even tau get more attention
Hell the Imperial Guardsman's lifespan would be about as long or shorter than the average video game so you could do the whole thing in realtime.
Bioware is not remotely thematically suited to do something in the 40K universe. Unless they intend to hire a completely new team of very specifically styled writers, this is going to be an absolute trainwreck if this is true.
fuck yeah, this means we're getting Strike Cruiser Armageddon
i want an imperial guard game space marines get all the attention even tau get more attention
Imagine a game like Star Wars Battlefront but instead of playing as Stormtroopers or Rebels you play as Imperial Guardsmen.
The actual source just says that a "trusted source" told them about this. Just a rumor with zero evidence.
This so fucking much. http://bitbybitgaming.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-little-something-for-ladies.html Look at this shit, this site literally has 0 news at all, it's just opinionated garbage and reviews, it's on a fucking blogspot page of all places. Besides if Warhammer 40K was sold it would be sold to EA NOT to Bioware. Just chill out people and always check your sources.
According to a reliable source within Bioware
translates to
I need page hits so here's some false shit that I know you will eat up!

They basically put all the homosexual romance characters on a single planet. It's much easier to add content rather than edit existing content.
i want an imperial guard game space marines get all the attention even tau get more attention
when you die inevitably, it sends you to another guard body. it keeps doing this until there are so many enemies there is no way to win.
i want an imperial guard game space marines get all the attention even tau get more attention
I was actually thinking up a concept for an IG game, with a similiar third person view and controls to Space Marine lemme just copypaste
The Colonel of Grey Storm: hell, I'd pay for a game like Space Marine but told from IG perspective The Colonel of Grey Storm: I actually had a little idea a while back for it, where the player is a guardsman stationed on a death planet The Colonel of Grey Storm: the opening would be like Fire Warrior, that being that the player + squad are in a transport, which would be shot down or something Rick VIce: ye The Colonel of Grey Storm: and the first quarter of the game would encompass surviving in the Death World while trying to find the rest of the IG (many being found dead, of course), and gear The Colonel of Grey Storm: then it would progress once you find x amount of guardsmen to try and make it to the destination you were supposed to get to The Colonel of Grey Storm: during which the enemies will start to appear as well, adding them to the mix of "survive death world wildlife" The Colonel of Grey Storm: never really got further than that though lol The Colonel of Grey Storm: and unlike Space Marine, the player wouldn't play a high ranking guardsman The Colonel of Grey Storm: probably the highest ranking person you'd see for more than half of the game would be the squad's commissar and their Sergeant The Colonel of Grey Storm: the player themselves being a bog standard guardsman
maybe I'll have to further flesh it out
I don't think Bioware's storytelling even at it's best is a great fit for Warhammer but this might be fairly interesting as long as they come out of the rut their last few games have fallen into.
I don't think Bioware's storytelling even at it's best is a great fit for Warhammer but this might be fairly interesting as long as they come out of the rut their last few games have fallen into.
they've not made a truly great game since KOTOR, they're probably not gonna come out of their rut.
they've not made a truly great game since KOTOR, they're probably not gonna come out of their rut.
I'm probably massively biased to Mass Effect as it was the first Bioware game I played (and has almost the same story as KOTOR) and the first conversationy RPG but I absolutely love the tone and it remains one of my favourite games. I don't think Jade Empire, Dragon Age or ME2 are as good as KOTOR but they are at the very least great if not more.
Meh, I didn't think ME3 was as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
Bioware of all devs? Really? What they lack in the gameplay department they usually try to make up with volumes of lore and character relationship drama (and those hilarious unromantic romance plots), but to my limited knowledge in 40k everyone's angry at everything all the time anyway and it's all about being a gorefest turned up to eleven with armies stretching from one horizon to the other. I remember some character banter from DoWII, but even that was mostly being angry at things or predicting they would be angry at things in the future. Maybe they'll stay as far away from typical 40k as possible and show the story of how McGenericCitizen leads a crappy life and joins the cannonfodder errr imperial guard with his group of friends (which all have the sexual orientation of "Player Character" of course).
Honestly, as much as people shit on Bioware, Bioware at their worst is still a lot better than much of what is out there.
I'd just be happy with an Imperial Guard ArmA mod. Especially for vehicles and aircraft.
Personally, I think that if they ever got the license, they should stick to already published and well received works set in the universe like the Gaunt's Ghosts novels as opposed to them writing their own story. I just don't see them being able to do it themselves. Now that I think of it, I would kill for a few games based on the Gaunt's Ghosts novels. Maybe in a style like Brothers In Arms.
depending on how Dragon Age 3 goes this could have some potential. if they can make DA3 as good as or on the same level as KOTOR, Mass Effect or the first Dragon Age, then we'll at least know there's still some talent at Bioware.
Don't Sega have the rights, since they hired relic to supposedly work on DoW 3?
I'd take that source with a big pinch of salt, it doesn't even spell Tau correctly.
By the emperror, how heretic Na, just kidding. Maybe they're able to pull of something interesting.
Don't Sega have the rights, since they hired relic to supposedly work on DoW 3?
GW can licence 40k out to as many companies as they see fit, it's their IP.
As long as there's blood, heretics, and more blood in any particular order, I'm A-OK.
The Emperor has abandoned us
As long as there's blood, heretics, and more blood in any particular order, I'm A-OK.
Khàrn the Betrayer: the RPG adventure.
by all means hate bioware for shoehorning romance subplots with every character into their games, or for the romance subplots themselves being terribly written but please don't start saying that the thing wrong with them was that they portrayed homosexual relationships seriously, like people throwing around the word 'faggot' all over the place I see a lot of this and no-one calls people on it. I hate bioware romances as much as you guys do but because they're TERRIBLY WRITTEN, not because I'm afraid of having gay relationships portrayed
I'm not afraid of gay relationships I just don't think there's a reason for it in WH40k, doesn't fit to have romance subplots at all really
