Well I haven't even heard this word before now. I guess the dictionary is doing its job then.
Oh god. I don't think any of the morons going, "hurr newspeak" actually read 1984.
I'm sure some of them did, but for school
Didn't they just add "Net 2.0" or something? Yeah, English language is going to shit.
Down with English lets all learn Hindi!!
Didn't they just add "Net 2.0" or something? Yeah, English language is going to shit.
How dare they add words for new things that are invented Excuse me while I go refuel my horseless carriage
I'm just glad it's not "sexting."
i unfriend dictionaries now
Oh it's a verb. I thought you could go to someone and go "you are my unfriend".
i unfriend dictionaries now
I read this and agreed with it.
Defriend would make so much more sense. [editline]08:04PM[/editline] Un: to undo De: to remove Are you undoing your friend, or removing them?
Then I read this and now I want to do more than just defriend the dictionary.
God dammit, the English language was perfect the way it was. Now, idiots are ushering in these foul slang terms and these... shitty phrases; Such as "unfriend"
Read a Shakespeare play in its original form. I guarantee you you will not understand it all straight away. Languages change, dumb dumb.

I don't know what you guys are duckspeaking, this is doubleplusgood!
Doublepluslate.
Word of the year should be Badong.
Kinda of a stupid word to put in the dictionary.
Doublepluslate.
One can never have too many 1984 references, even where they're not entirely relevant.
word of the year should be dargon.
:350:
Shows how lazy the English language is getting.
It's the natural progress of any language.
I am not comforming to this. I never called it that anyway, I actually said "I removed him from my friends list"
I like how this thread is the first time I heard this word.
God dammit, the English language was perfect the way it was. Now, idiots are ushering in these foul slang terms and these... shitty phrases; Such as "unfriend"
You don't have to give up the vocabulary you use now, you know. Let the fools have their fun.
:350:
This post is bad and wrong it is . . . . badong.
Read a Shakespeare play in its original form. I guarantee you you will not understand it all straight away. I sure hope they haven't made words like "lol"and "omg" legitimate.
I just wish the new words they add sounded somewhat original. Actually I just wish people would be more original period. [editline]04:27PM[/editline]
I sure hope they haven't made words like "lol"and "omg" legitimate.
Luckily those are still under the acronym listings, but they do have their own entries.

It's quite an un-good decision by this organisation. [editline]06:27PM[/editline]
:350:
You really got your point across from that reply, good stuff.
