I was surprised by this the other way round the other day. My dog got some antibiotics and they were from pfizer. I didn't think they made animal drugs but I guess at the end of the day its all the same thing.
I'm fucking SICK and tired of taking anti depressants for a good 2 and a half years. Been on Sertraline, and now I'm on Fluoxitine. I've lost faith in my psychologists and GP's and doctors a long time ago because instead of DEALING with your problems, they only instead pump you full of drugs and "Happy Pills" to make you feel "better". After all I've been through, I only see it now as them saying "Awwwwww, so you've been raped, tortured, abused, bullied, beaten up, used as a bank, and ben held hostage within a year? TAKE THIS PILL, IT WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER."

Fucking hated it. I took Sertraline for 2 years and all it did was made me feel like a zombie inside and out. No emotion whatsoever, hell I didn't even feel pain well enough.
I keep getting put on different meds for my IBD but I seem to be a walking pile of resistance and when I get my next appointment I'm just going to ask to not go on anything else since I just seem to get hit by all the side effects, the last drugs I took just gave me an awful stomach ache and made me feel sick for a week.

You should push your GP for other treatment options, anti-depressants are [I]meant[/I] to be a last resort after everything else has failed. Then again, depending on where you are the options could be seriously limiting. Certain parts of this wonderful country have pretty shitty metal health professionals. A lot of them seem more occupied with clearing their books than actually treating people.

Ask for cognitive behavioral therapy. Antidepressants aren't meant for that sort of thing, they're only for if therapy doesn't work, [I]or[/I] if you're currently in no state for therapy to work and you need to boost your mood temporarily so you'll be motivated.
I'm guessing i'm not the only person here who's never taken any sort of pill?
