Just curious, how many more times does shit like this have to happen before you people stop defending 'the religion of peace'?
how many bigoted generalist comments do you have to make before getting banned
This is not a ban x meme, i mean it seriously: Ban religion
[t]http://www.makara.us/04mdr/01writing/03tg/bios/Mussolini_files/mussolini-smile.jpg[/t] Wonderful!
If my parents beat my brother to death for not memorizing the Bible, I bet I'd have memorized the Bible by now.
Wow You must have so many friends for being such an offensive, ignorant and closed in asshole.
Don't bother, znk is notorious for being one of the most ignorant, bigoted atheists on this forum. Seriously he could be a spokesperson for r/atheism. I like how people in this thread are saying "how long until you stop defending the religion of peace" or "lol religion of peace strikes again", as if the same Muslims that try to live normal lives are the exact same ones that murdered this boy or the other radicals. Islam is not a fucking hive mind people. This isn't the Borg or Tyranids we're talking about.
Seriously. Remove that shit, its outdated, and useless and just creates more wars for people to die in, just creates more division for people to circlejerk in, and makes people waste money in imaginary shit while they could be using it on making theirs, or others lives better. Consider the whole religion thing an act of terrorism and a violation against human rights, it ruins peoples lives. Islam and Catholicism are more fascist than the act of banning religion.
Execute the idiot,problem solved.
Islam and Catholicism are more fascist than the act of banning religion.
lol Did you just say Catholicism was its own religion? You don't know shit.
Did you just say Catholicism was its own religion? You don't know shit.
I don't think he did, no [editline]2nd November 2012[/editline] this thread went downtown fast as all fuck, jesus christ
Seriously.
Consider the whole religion thing an act of terrorism and a violation against human rights, it ruins peoples lives.
Right, so my Musilm neighbors are violating human rights and conducting terrorism when they go shopping or come over and watch football with us. It ruined my life so badly that they invited me over and I accepted and they were awful hosts, what with violating my human rights and all. Here we go again with the whole hive mind crap.
Islam and Catholicism are more fascist than the act of banning religion.
seriously did r/atheism just invade Facepunch? There's so much stupid in this thread, and that's saying something for SH.
I don't know what to say. Religiousness should be about being human, about being a good parent, and not about teaching your kid 35 pages of Qoran that could be summed in two sentences (same goes for Bible), and killing your kid if he fails to do so. That's just bullshit.
are you for real so it's only a real mental illness if an atheist says that it was the devil that told him/her that
No, what he's saying is that a person is more likely to realize it is a mental illness if they are not highly religious, if the pop started hearing voices in his head he'd most likely think that god was speaking to him and consider it normal.

Someone understands this shit, unlike a few of the people here. Goddamn, I realize Facepunch had its fair share of paranoid, xenophobic nutcases, but shit, every thread takes it to a whole new level.
This has to be the most absurd thing I've ever heard uttered in a religion thread. BY ITS VERY DEFINITION, IF YOU ARE HEARING VOICES, THERE IS NO CONCRETE "REALITY" FOR YOU TO RATIONALIZE OR ANALYZE WHAT YOU ARE HEARING. THAT IS THE VERY DEFINITION OF MENTAL ILLNESS. An atheist hearing voices from the devil would be unable to rationalize what he is hearing, let alone remember that the devil doesn't exist.
That's not true at all. There is a separation between the rational and irrational even with mental illness. You can rationalize the voices and know that you are mentally ill, but still be mentally ill. It's like saying someone can't know if they are clinically depressed, or bipolar. You can tell that your feelings and thoughts are not normal. For someone incredibly religious, voices or schizophrenic episodes would be more likely to be interpreted as something spiritual. For someone who doesn't believe in any of that stuff, it is more likely they would interpret the episodes as actual mental illness and seek psychiatric or psychological help.

Even though she beats herself up, literally never stops talking/screaming to herself, the list goes on and on but I've told her sooo sooo many many many times that she needs treatment but she says nothing's wrong with her.
I have experiences to the contrary.
This is when people usually elaborate.
Islam, the religion of peace. (User was banned for this post ("Meme crap" - Starpluck))
Islam, the religion of peace.
1. You aren't original 2. Mental Illness in a single human being =/= billions of rational people
1. You aren't original 2. Mental Illness in a single human being =/= billions of rational people
I know. But most people here on FP likes to think like that against Christianity.
Present them.
Psychotic episodes are not unheard to people with bipolar disorder, which I have. I've had personal experiences. Shit seems real while it's happening but when you become lucid again it feels like a bad dream. I also knew a woman who was schizophrenic. In fact, I remember very clearly her going on a long rant about how she had a bomb in her stomach and she was going to Afghanistan to kill the Taliban. However, when she wasn't in one of those states she knew about her own illness. It probably depends heavily on severity like I said before. Someone who has an acute disorder will obviously be more detached from reality than someone who has a somewhat milder case.
I know. But most people here on FP likes to think like that against Christianity.
What is even your point.
I know. But most people here on FP likes to think like that against Christianity.
'But mom the other kids are doing it!'

Guess I was wrong; znk can't step outside his bigoted and hateful definition of reality long enough to see it...
Which is the whole basis for religion.
facepunch's tried and true internet rangers, destroying religion one post at a time
I love how people are serious when they advocate for "banning" religion. It's so fucking hypocritical. You're basically saying "have it where you prosecute people with different beliefs than mine!" Gee that doesn't sound like the exact same big bad religious people you hate, doesn't it?
