People here tend to dislike rap and/or hiphop.
yes but completely on the wrong grounds. if you take the time to listen and understand the music and come out not liking it, that's different than hating hip-hop because those kids you don't like play it too loud.

he isn't really any of these, there's a difference between the real person and the character.
hello i'm facepunch and what's performance art?
I don't think its got much to do with the music, its more to do with the fact that he's hilariously egotistical.

he's surprisingly self-critical in both interview and music and at what point do you act like the way people treat you?
plus the fact that you are judging a musician based on the reason why you even know him is a bit strange to say the least
As both a Kanye fan and a CoD player, I have to say this is just awful. Very bad for West's image, if you ask me. Basement dwelling rednecks and 12 year olds are not things he wants to be associated with.
(for the record i am neither a basement dwelling redneck or a 12 year old so i suppose my generalization was a bit out of line)

it was less a generalization and more an attempt at wit
keep trying eventually you'll get it without fucking it up.
Tomorrow's news: CoD con 2011 deemed worst conventional event in human history
I'm not into his genre of music, so I can't really comment on the quality, but he's a real shit of a person.
Not really. Apparently he's very charismatic in person. He puts on a show because it's what the genre demands of him. If he was really such an anathema to social relations do you think he'd be able to pull off the collaborative successes that are his last two albums? I think not.
yeah again people confuse the character and the person.
does the real kanye wear angel wings and fly through the air? nope, but the performer does and anyone who saw him live would know that it's absolutely the right thing to complete the show.
it's like when sonic youth fight each-other with their guitars and spend 20 minutes screaming into a pickup.

But no one here cares enough, and you are wasting your time. It's just the internet anyways.

why would you even post this
Kayne closes up the Call of Duty convention, but Activision hasn't said who will be their performer Friday night. We expect to hear that soon.
It's obviously Rebecca Black.
lots of kanye haters here
It's obviously Rebecca Black.
haha it's funny because it's a Friday night performance and the song she's known for is called Friday!
But no one here cares enough, and you are wasting your time. It's just the internet anyways.
okay well then i'm sure you won't mind seeing yourself out, toodles.

Don't mean to be a dick, but that's all I understood from that post, unless his erratic behavior is some form of clever theatrics or "persona" He does seem like a rather unpleasant guy. I'm sure he's self critical but he makes sure everybody knows it, and that he is the champion for them.
clever theatrics or "persona".
um that's what we've been saying the whole thread

they are theatrics. when kanye west took the mic from taylor swift it was drama and theater.
but all good drama and theater has a point and blood behind.
because nothing says "Hard hitting dramatic story" like Kanye West
They should have Eminem do a song about CoD instaed.

Because Cassius and Brutus really will try to stab Caesar on stage in front of an audience for that extra bit of attention. That Tailor swift fiasco was bad form and rude, even if he was just playing his persona.

are you kidding me
That Tailor swift fiasco was bad form and rude, even if he was just playing his persona.
k doesn't change the fact that there's still a difference between person and character
you might find it bad form and rude but he's playing a character and he's obviously not playing it for you so to make personal judgements that don't go to his art is pretty shallow.
you don't know the real person anyway.

your right I don't know him personally, but why would you make such a scene and then humiliate some other person just so you can maintain your own stage image and garner attention?, he could have told her beforehand "here look, I'm going to interrupt you in the middle of your speech, but don't take it personally just show business" before he did it.
make such a scene and then humiliate some other person just so you can maintain your own stage image and garner attention?
but it actually worked wonders for taylor swift.
and you don't know maybe she was told beforehand, it's not obvious it's all just a judgement and assumption.
I'd go to see Kanye.

Multi-millionaire artist steals a microphone from another multi-millionaire artist during a multi-millionaire circle jerk.
Why should I feel sorry for Taylor Swift. It's all fake like WWE anyway.
