Well then video games shouldn't be made because then that brings fiction into the real world
And books should be burned because they promote fictional things in our world of non fiction
And TV Shows should all be informational because fiction is poisoning our non fictional brains.
The logic of 'fiction should stay fiction' is retarded.
what
video games are fiction
they can incorporate real world elements
I just dislike it when people take things from fiction (aka burgertown) and try to bring it into real life.
I'm not saying it's bad when people create fictional things. That's what you're misrepresenting my point of view as.
Hated kanye since his conception.
Now I loathe him since he sampled 21st century schizoid man. I hate him so.

I never said it was about the money, please tell me one artist that's on Kanye's level? you know nothing about hip-hop/rap please stay out of this.

Wow, someone took a burger king and replaced the 'king' with 'town', you're right, they are clearly out of control! They're just trying to have something fun with an interactive experience for the fans. Why are you so against something that's for a good cause?

I'm not against the thing going for charity.
I'm just against the entire concept of "ohey let's perpetuate the mythos of cod by making it IRL"
If they can exploit the huge fanbase to make it better for the charity, great
I just don't like the concept

They're not perpetuating the mythos. I saw 'Burger Town' in a commercial for Subway, and the commercial had nothing even remotely referencing Call of Duty. I also observed the fine print at the bottom and there was nothing about Activision or Call of Duty or anything. Burger Town isn't strictly Call of Duty. That's like saying by having an M16 or M4A1 somewhere in existence, that is clearly perpetuating the mythos, right? What else would they have at a Call of Duty event besides Call of Duty related stuff, for that matter? A Call of Duty event with nothing from Call of Duty would be stupid and boring.

Call of Duty con 2011: Featuring the makers of Bad Company 2.
As both a Kanye fan and a CoD player, I have to say this is just awful. Very bad for West's image, if you ask me. Basement dwelling rednecks and 12 year olds are not things he wants to be associated with.
(for the record i am neither a basement dwelling redneck or a 12 year old so i suppose my generalization was a bit out of line)
You have to be 18 to go to the convention.

Er no
that was brought from IRL into the game
your cause/effect is wrong there
a call of duty event I would be fine with are held every couple weeks in europe with cod4
they're called tournaments
make a MW3 tourney and cut out the crap and it'd be a much better event. even sponsor some of the players for charity
Two of the shittiest things on earth my god
Biggest exageration on earth right now.
Theres soo much hate for CoD that even Hitler wouldn't be spit on with a game cd by its side.
i havent played a cod game in like 4 years but i am very annoyed by the direction that it has taken shooters in
what
how can you call anyone out of touch with reality and then make a claim that isn't even remotely capable of being backed-up by anything unless god told you.
Good point. What I was trying to say is that the decision to have the guy peform at this convention has been made with complete disregard for Activision's core consumers (ie the people whose interest is big enough actually visit a CoD convention). I don't have anything to back it up with really, other than my own experience.

It's not a convention, it's a charity event. I don't think it's fair to say that by having Kanye perform or whatever, Activision is completely disregarding their core consumers.

yeah well they didn't just go "LET'S PICK YEEZY" they very obviously check all the stats and see what the demographics are as is usual for this kind of thing.
the claim that they don't know what they are doing and are out of touch is funny when you consider that they very likely already considered that.
now if they picked joanna newsom to play harp music you might have had a point

let's ignore the issue of whether or not this is true
why is the fact that activision is supposedly not properly targeting their entertainment something that is legit making people mad in this thread? why is this something people are caring enough about to post about
I don't know a damn thing about Kanye's music, rap isn't exactly my style, but I do dislike him as a person because he's a a bit of a tool. So there's that, I guess.

i didn't realize you had personal relations with yeezy
wow got some guys here who know nothing about hip-hop and want to bad-mouth kanye, who is consistently rated as one of the top in hip-hop, just because the name call of duty has become attached to him.
I don't hate him because he's a rapper, I hate him because he's an over-egotistical fool.
You don't have to know music to know this, just have to have very common sense.
plenty of musical artists are dicks i don't see why fp is going after kanye specifically
and he's certainly not some oblivious jackoff because if you listen to pretty much any of his work it's obvious that he's pretty aware of, and openly struggles with, his problems which is a lot more than you can say for most artists
Kanye West is awesome fuck all y'all haterz

It's because most people are still stuck on the Taylor-Swift 'incident' ..stupid huh?

he's black, raps (two big no-nos for whiny white teenage male nerds with a superiority complex) and because of the whole taylor swift thing
i didn't realize you had personal relations with yeezy
Is it necessary to? The guy had made himself an icon, forced himself into every day life through the comments he makes and the actions he takes. I don't have to sit down to dinner with the guy to see what kind of man he is, I only have to see how he conducts himself. He routinely makes an ass out of himself, and is aggressively arrogant. These are not flattering characteristics.
Does this mean we can expect many Kanye West endorsements in MW3?
Kanye West music is replacing the Nuke. It will make you want to kill yourself in real life, too.

That's a stupid approach you're ignoring milestone albums/influential artists.
Someone has to ask him if he likes fishsticks... Just sayin'

Probably because they are posting in a thread specifically about him. Funny that.
Seriously, it would make no sense to start complaining about Elvis or some shit in a thread about Kanye. It isn't that hard to work this kind of thing out is it?
I'm not a big fan of his genre of music, I can probably stand listening to only a few of his songs (probably some of the earlier albums) and I don't really think his "act" is all that interesting. But that doesn't mean I'm going to flip my shit that he's performing at some convention/ charity event that I don't give a single fuck about.
How in the world are some of you getting this much grief off something that has no fucking impact on you at all?

Or maybe he just likes their style of music more than modern forms of rap/ hip-hop? It's called an opinion, he is entitled to one.
Someone has to ask him if he likes fishsticks... Just sayin'
he already references that on Dark Twisted Fantasy so just hope he performs that song
