Get it early. They'll probably ground the flights if you don't go soon enough. Consider taking a redeye tonight
The reason I'm in baltimore is too important to leave before tomorrow night :(
I'm in Baltimore. I'm ready for two feet :v:
Can't wait. Northern Virginia. Looking like about 2 feet incoming here, maybe more.
Winter's been shit so far and now we're getting all our winter at once. Gonna be rad.
Take lots of pictures if you live there and share with us!
Finally Virginia getting snow.
Got gas for the generator.
I'm ready.
Maybe break out the ol' snowblower and make some money...
and to think i thought since there was no snow yet here, we wouldnt get any snow at all this year...
i fucking hate winter
I'm in Baltimore. My heating is shit.
:frown:
When old man winter shows up, he shows up without lube.
18-24 inches where i live.
just to be sure, would 18-24 inches of snow weigh enough to collapse the roof of a suburban home?

Not your typical suburban home. We've had a few feet here several times and our roof is fine.
Flat roofs would probably be at more risk since all that weight isn't being distributed like it would on a slanted surface.

That's why they're shaped the way they are. Building codes say that your roof has to take the amount of snow your area can expect. Also depends on how heavy the snow is (wet or dry).
The local ice skating rink around here has a gigantic flat roof not meant to hold 18-24 inches of snow, so they have to get up on the roof and shovel it off all the time
Utah just got fucked like two weeks ago with like two feet of snow, then I moved to NYC just recently, i'm glad i'm going to get fucked again. so so cool.

Which one is that, is it the Ashburn Ice House?
Too many videogames, when I first saw the title I immediately thought of the company and then proceeded to think "what" :v:

Thank god I just got on my flight back to California from New York. I think I'm going to be okay!
Bring it Winter, give me your worst.
I will love every second of it.
Fuck my life. I hate snow. New York sucks with it.
Well the good news is that from all the weather reports I've seen so far, you'll be fine if you live anywhere but NYC (Read as: Little to no snow). I live just south of Albany and we've missed a number of storms because they all veered off to the right/south (North east being forward/straight) instead of veering left like usual and ass fucking the area.
Here in western NC (The mountains basically) stores are running out of food. No bread or milk or soup at all.

It's gonna be fun shoveling snow on sunday.
It's just snow why is everyone in a panic?
Because some people can be without power which includes no heating and fridges for days.
Also the further south you go the more utterly inept people are at handling it.

I remember when I lived back in Springfield, MO and we had a snow storm that took out our power for days, maybe a week. The whole state was under federal emergency or something. Compared to Minnesota, where I live now, it seems like the southern most states architecture, piping, and electricity aren't built to be winter-ready compared to the northern parts of the country.
At least I'll finally get some exercise. For some reason I don't mind shoveling snow and getting snow off mine and my dad's cars.
It's likely we might lose power. there are a fuckload of data centers out where I live. Here's hoping your favorite CS:GO server isn't located out here :)
Really? I live right outside of DC. Hope I don't lose power :|.
NOVA here, making sure the house is stocked with booze before the impending snowpocalpyse
Not sure if anyone knows where McLean, VA is but yeah gonna be interesting to see how this plays out
