Do you really expect them to deliver mail in 3 ft of snow?
In my area it's spotless. I've been on the road all day and say maybe one or two patches of ice in the road.

This is purcellville. According to the NWS, ashburn got the most snow in Nova, which is cool because I've never been in the epicenter of anything before.
Gotta go dig my car out now. If I don't survive, tell BDA he should quit being a moderator and tell Fourier he's the coolest guy on facepunch
Now THAT is fucking scary.
Hagerstown MD got nearly 3 feet of snow. I thought the news was just hyping this shit up, but it came alright. At work we closed up shop early on Friday and haven't been open since. I just spent an hour and a half trying to dig out my neighbor's car. Broke the shovel and only got about 2/3 of the way done, but at least they can get in to their car to start it.:tried:
I'm in eastern Maryland and we got around 2 feet but the wind was blowing so much it felt more like we only got like ~10 inches here maybe. Only the side road I live off of isn't plowed with all the main ones being cleared. I did look outside during the storm occasionally and it looked like it was raining horizontally. Due to a rather dumb accident my finger got sliced open really bad when the storm was happening, so that was a lot of fun to deal with at home. Managed to get kind of a cool photo at night after the bulk of it passed though
lmao schools got called off in philly
No snow plows through my apartment. people are just dumping snow in the middle of the road. I'm gonna make the journey across the highway to the safeway and get vital snacks needed for survival.

Jeez, it looks like you need to shovel your house out instead.
Hey guys. So the government has outright abandoned us. The apartment complex managers haven't shown up and there's no plows coming through. As such, my neighbors and I have assumed that the United states government has been dissolved entirely and we are now living in the wasteland. My apartment complex has elected me as their leader. We're getting the snow under control but we need supplies. Are there any more settlements in the ashburn, va area that have cat litter, captain crunch, weed, or monster energy drinks? We are willing to trade furs, books, And several tons of snow
Hasn't snowed in a day or more here, people are still freaking over whats on the ground.
Most stores are sold out of tow straps and hooks/rings, as well as sausage and biscuits
No one's plowed my street or the main road, yet it appears that my college and work will open tomorrow. Work starts at 8am and college starts in the afternoon. To which I say fuck that shit, I'm taking my leave until they plow the street that has about 30 inches of snow.

Your settlement has already chosen occupations? I'm glad to see you're doing so well. Perhaps we can meet and make diplomacy. It seems my people have much to learn from yours.
Unfortunately, as was expected in such dire circumstances, my people are now arguing over who ought to be the leader: me, or another resident (joshua). While those who support me believe in my pragmatic approach, joshuas followers are... not so easily reasoned with.
Joshua has convinced them that the ice god has punished mankind for its transgressions against the earth. Before the event, we might call them "eco terrorists" or "religious radicals". Either way, joshua has declared to his followers that my leadership is invalid and he is the true leader of the settlement. I hope to meet with joshua soon to discuss how we can solve this diplomatically but... I fear he won't listen to reason.
Rumor has it we may see more snow this weekend, or perhaps Wednesday if some reports are to be believed.
I might not have a spec of snow on the ground here but I feel for you guys. I'm flooded in this middle of nowhere stretch of Mississippi for 20 days so far. Only way now is driving on top of an unpaved levy, pretty much trucks only, and it takes an hour and a half to get to town. If we get any ice at all (which is looking like it's possible) they'll likely close the levy too so I'll be trapped here.

Where are those rumors circulating from?
Here's some pictures from Philly a few days later.

The "snow this weekend" was office scuttlebutt, trying to find sources now and can't. Probably some local weather station.
The "snow wednesday" is from wunderground, but it's just a tiny bit of possible snow mixed in with rain overnight. No longer concerned.

Quickly, use this as an opportunity. Lure him away from the others and deal with him, then seize on this opportunity to win his followers to your side by claiming the ice god has struck him down for defying the rightful ruler - you. Use these new followers as a loyal workforce, willing to die in the name of the ice god's chosen - and keep in line the intellectuals of the settlement should they attempt to usurp your power.
