Nobody's telling you that you can't have different tastes in music. It's the fact that Queen is one of those bands that put so much into their music, used real talent that they had to refine and practice at for so long in order to get to where they are. They didn't have to just press a button on a computer.
What about those songs of theirs that use sequencers and stuff, that's just a button on a computer.
What about those songs of theirs that use sequencers and stuff, that's just a button on a computer.
You do realise electronic music was harder than 'a press of a button' pre 1991 right?
You do realise electronic music was harder than 'a press of a button' pre 1991 right?
No I didn't realise that at all; thank you for imparting that rare nugget of information, you must be an expert on the subject.
queen music sucks at being bad
is there fake talent? who has fake talent?
is there fake talent? who has fake talent?
fake talent is singing like shit and then editing it to fuck. but then I suppose the editor has talent so there is still talent
fake talent is singing like shit and then editing it to fuck. but then I suppose the editor has talent so there is still talent
You think Queen isn't "edited to fuck"? Freddy Mercury was a legitimately good singer but deciding talent based on edits is weird and makes me uncomfortable.
fake talent is singing like shit and then editing it to fuck. but then I suppose the editor has talent so there is still talent
Yeah but there are a lot of bands and singers who sing like shit, never edited it, and everyone says they have talent. Bob Dylan, Neutral Milk Hotel, Sex Pistols, etc. Is that apparently bad? Different people like different things.
You'll be hard pressed to find unedited audio. Even recorded live performances are often edited. Only way to get raw audio is through bootlegs.
Honestly though, let's compare: Queen: - Songs are too long - What the heck is Bohemian Rhapsody about? Your mom? + Freddie Mercury is cute - They had weird hair in their hay-day. Toto: + Songs are just right. + They make a lot of sense too, Africa is a masterpiece. + They're all cute. + Perfect Hair.

What other notable songs from Queen are long? Either than Bo Rhap, which for classic rock isn't very long to begin with, I can't think of any.
- What the heck is Bohemian Rhapsody about? Your mom?
How dare you say that. Have you even read the lyrics.
- What the heck is Bohemian Rhapsody about? Your mom?
Coming to the conclusion that Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is about your mother is like coming to the conclusion that Toto's Georgy Porgy is about pudding. Something has gone terribly wrong, and it's not the song's fault.
The problem with Queen is that, outside of their "greatest hits", their songs are kinda lame.
March of the Black Queen is my favourite song of theirs...
I don't understand how someone can't like Queen. At it's very least it's fantastic classic rock which people who listen to music must at least respect.
In my defence, I grew up really early with just god damn Queen music and Beetles music. I hated them because its all I heard on the car rides and arguements. Then my mom started playing Floyd, and we never argued during those times. It was us singing so I associated Floyd with good feelings. Queen/Beetles with bad feelings. I'll take Floyd or Billy Joel over Queen anyday.
The problem with Queen is that, outside of their "greatest hits", their songs are kinda lame.
You're lame.
People claim that a hivemind doesn't exist on this forum right as half the thread jumps on a poster for saying he doesn't like a band.
People claim that a hivemind doesn't exist on this forum right as half the thread jumps on a poster for saying he doesn't like a band.
Because he's wrong.
People claim that a hivemind doesn't exist on this forum right as half the thread jumps on a poster for saying he doesn't like a band.
really? well since you aren't following what the rest of the hivemind is doing I guess we'll have to kill you. [editline]28th May 2014[/editline] Purge the scorn! One of us! One of us!
They didn't have to just press a button on a computer.
I don't even mind Queen but come on dude. Anybody who uses this "pressing a button on a computer" argument knows nothing about the creation of electronic music.
You do realise electronic music was harder than 'a press of a button' pre 1991 right?
Years before 1991 there would have been production software similar to what there is today. Making electronic music was never 'a press of a button.'
People claim that a hivemind doesn't exist on this forum right as half the thread jumps on a poster for saying he doesn't like a band.
according to the internet queen is immortal to criticism or negativity, which is stupid. God forbid others listen to different genres or periods.
People claim that a hivemind doesn't exist on this forum right as half the thread jumps on a poster for saying he doesn't like a band.
That's not a hivemind, that's called a 'popular opinion'. If somebody started defending a murderer or something, lots of people would jump onto them and argue too- it's not so much a hivemind, instead it's just that a lot of people happen to like Queen.
Years before 1991 there would have been production software similar to what there is today. Making electronic music was never 'a press of a button.'
Older software on older computers was still a damn sight harder. And even before that, everything was analogue and even harder.

Plus it's a bootleg so there's no real editing going on here (apart from EQing and getting rid of tape hiss the uploader did). [editline]28th May 2014[/editline]
People claim that a hivemind doesn't exist on this forum right as half the thread jumps on a poster for saying he doesn't like a band.
Maybe it's just because loads of people like Queen?
Toto: - Not in Kansas anymore
Kansas was just dust in the wind, which is why they went to Africa.
People claim that a hivemind doesn't exist on this forum right as half the thread jumps on a poster for saying he doesn't like a band.
The hivemind tries to keep its existence secret
Older software on older computers was still a damn sight harder. And even before that, everything was analogue and even harder.
My point is that claiming electronic music can be made just "at the push of a button" is oversimplifying things and has never been accurate.
