Really, the worst part for me has been the challenges, because they AI is just so rediculously stupid on your side, but they perform like a Marine squadron for the enemy side. So you'll end up frustrated with them and possibly lose out on the experience and unlocks. So far, the Campaign gameplay has been fine for me. I haven't had any problems with it yet. For some reason, the AI in the Campaign is actually fairly intelligent. And also, you only unlock the weapons and their attachments from the Challenges. The rest has to be earned through leveling up.
I played it for a couple of hours and it's a great game, but I feel that there should be so much more. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] Then I notice the DLC option in the menu... :v:
I'd play some multiplayer..
Good thing I got Section 8: Prejudice instead. Good reviews, AND IT'S ONLY 15 DOLLARS.
I bet we will see a DLC announcement in few days. [sp]5 maps for €15[/sp]
Heh...

ITT: People who have exact opinions basied on reviews. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] and yeah, IGN & co are pretty much shitty in their reviews.
That's because their reviewers didn't play the game, hell, Joystiq's reviewer didn't even get to level 2, aswell as the fact that he was complaining about how there wasn't a way to track his KD.
Hey, remember me? Heh.

What are the system reqs? The game is out and the Steam page doesn't even have the reqs. edit: nvm, they're there now. fuck, can't play it.
Back in January and February there was a lot of hype. But I've just seen that falling down and down harder and harder for each Brink newspost. I personally never thought it looked very good. Not really. The great think about Bad Company 2 was that it took a lot of time to get everything. Personally I start getting bored of these kind of games when they stop having anything to unlock because then you just play for the sake of shooting some people and that only holds interest for a round or three and you don't really feel like coming back unless you have a bunch of friends that wants to play it.
Thats the problem with games designed around unlocking - once you unlock eveyrthing it gets stale. How about we come up with a really solid multiplayer experience devs, and get rid of this unlock grind bullshit. The only reason people use it in games is becuase it makes up for the repetitive base gameplay you put into your games. It's a crutch. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] In other news, this seems to perform exactly as well as ET:QW did in hype and the actual execution.
-wait it was just a joke-
And I was called a troll for voicing my doubts about this. Ha.
Reviews are terribly misleading because I love the game so far and so has everyone else who's actually played it. Reminds me of ET because it's fairly fast paced yet tactical at the same time. If you read the reviews though, a lot of the complaints are about it being to difficult and complex and you can tell they were expecting something generic and didn't get it.
It's not really generic like a bunch of people have been saying. It's just flawed. I am very happy it doesn't fit the generic modern desert warfare simulator x-treme game stereotype, even though it doesn't stand out as a good game.

Its sad that "reviewers" base their opinion on the singleplayer portion. Go play Unreal Tournament 2004 in Singleplayer and then give it a review score, see how much truth that holds. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
And I was called a troll for voicing my doubts about this. Ha.
No, you were called a troll for repeating how boring and generic you find it in every single thread on the game, without bringing anything new to the discussion. So people said you only go to the threads to stir up shit. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] Also lol @ taking "having to work together to win a round" as a negative.
It will die out in about a month. My money has been saved! *Got a disagree, so I'll extend it to 1 month and 1/2 before it's dead. Seriously.
reviews are thrashing the hell out of this game. Glad I didn't get on the hype train and buy it.
yeah, it never looked very good in my eyes anyway
yay
Sounds like Splash Damage should've stuck to working on Enemy Territory Quake Wars.
It's funny really, both reviews are putting it down for things that they ignore when it's Call of Duty... Brink looks more original than most new shooters and because reviewers all band together and put it down, no-one will buy it.
These reviews are awful and obsess over extremely small things, me and my friends are enjoying this game to hell and it's a great, new experience. Better than your typical FPS on the market like Homefront or Black Ops.
It's funny really, both reviews are putting it down for things that they ignore when it's Call of Duty...
activision probably bribes them
Eagerly awaiting the RPS review.
Brink is fun and these faggot ass fake "gamers" reviewing games need to get hung for poisoning the fucking entertainment industry with more COD clone faggotry. God DAMN I hate those fuckers who work at IGN and places similar who pretend they know shit about games and whenever they do a "top 10 games" they throw in mario/zelda to act like they've been gaming since forever when they really HAVEN'T and just enjoy the latest copy paste fuckin COD clone. I am fucking TIRED of games being tainted by consolized bullshit that water down the gameplay and in some cases actually make the game more difficult than it really needs to fucking be (ex. auto target & lunge knife kills). You know IGN is a pile of bullshit when they rate Black Ops over Brink. Atleast in Brink you have a solid, continuous spawn instead of the pile of shit that Black Ops has.
I like how the only justification for Brink being a good game is that "it isn't Call of Duty." Is that really the only way people can compliment Brink? Brink looks really generic to me. It seems like a shallow game that will get old after about a month.
