I really doubt any state will secede, it's more trouble than it's worth and religious whackjobs/whackjobs start campaigns to secede first, which gives those with legitimate reasons a bad name and noone will take them seriously

To be fair to Texas, federal taxes are actually a fairly bad deal for them: According to The Tax Foundation's 2005 calculations, the Lone Star State only
gets 94 cents in federal spending for every dollar paid in taxes.
