• Seaweed now taste like Bacon

First thing that popped into my mind is Long John Silver's(the only fish centric fast food place I know of) putting out a line of "hip" sushi rolls using bacon-weed. As for me, I'd try it if one of the sushi places I order from started having rolls made with it as an option. As much as I like bacon, I can't see this being so great as a component of sushi. I say this as sushi is the only way I consume seaweed as the stores near me apparently don't carry seaweed.
If you can find a reasonable alternative source of nutrients you'd obtain from meat, then I'd be game. Vegetarians and vegans will always boast about how this is false information, but reputable sources point to the fact that there are serious deficiencies you can get from not eating meat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarian_nutrition#Potential_nutrient_deficiencies I'd like some of this stuff for salads but it's not a game changer.
Literally the first paragraph in the source you provided. Did you even read this?
If well-planned and fortified to balance their deficiencies, vegetarian and vegan diets can become nutritionally adequate and can be appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.[1] When fortified, a vegetarian diet can provide adequate protein, iron, zinc, vitamin B12, and calcium intake, though these nutrients can be dangerously low and may compromise children's health and development in non fortified vegetarian diets, and when not enough calories are consumed.[1][2]

Nonetheless, well-balanced vegetarian and vegan diets can meet all these nutrient requirements and are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including during pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, and adolescence.[SUP][1][/SUP] Many tools are available to help vegetarians maintain an adequate nutrient balance including several Vegetarian Diet Pyramids.[SUP][26][/SUP][SUP][27]
I've been vegan for a while now and the only thing I had to do was research the foods that I eat. Spending more time understanding the things that go into your body isn't a bad thing. Considering the average american diet tends to be stereotypically bad, it would be very hard to convince me that my well planned diet is somehow depriving me of the luxury nutrients someone who consumes large quantities of junk food, fast food, processed food. You might have more easy access to vitamin b12, but some people don't even eat vegetables at all. [editline]17th July 2015[/editline]
most vegans will still be crying, or at least whining; its a GMO after all
That has nothing to do with veganism.
Nearly everyone will now be taking a step forward to eating more healthy :v:
fried seaweed is crispy and light
Well there you have it, I guess.
"strain of seaweed" just makes it not sound as appetizing as I hoped.
Now learn to make chicken and steak flavored plants and I'll have no problem going vegan.
They already make very convincing substitutes for almost every type of meat, so much so that i easily convinced my carnivore of a boyfriend to buy them instead of meat.
Now learn to make chicken and steak flavored plants and I'll have no problem going vegan.
Those already exist. There are plenty of soy products that don't taste or feel like tofu. Going vegetarian is easy. Going vegan requires more research and attention to detail.
have they made soy steaks that are nice and bloody in the center at medium rare
I had seaweed before years ago. A friend of mine's mother made some rice and some type of beef to go in seaweed. They'd just wrap it, but after I tasted the seaweed I ate it like chips. It's that good.
you can't beat kale for smoothies though shit is the bomb
Bacon smoothie sorry but shut up you're wrong
I think the crispy flavor of roasted meat gives bacon half of it's flavor.
Still waiting for that lab-grown meat indistinguishable from the real thing. There's always gonna be a need for live animals in research etc., but I hope we can perfectly replace them in food sometime soon.
