I think like this: you should prosecute someone if you really feel they've done harm to you worth the penalty to be done unto them. For the love of Christ, though, I don't think that is called for here.
A guy who done that to a police woman would have got charged with sexual assault, 100%. It's 100% the expected course of action.
Ad hominems are great aren't they
It's not like the constant "man tpain's gonna cause a shitstorm!!" posts are particularly helpful in avoiding that. I don't think this is nearly as important an issue as people here are making it out to be.
Yes you certainly do, you're only in here defending this women because she's female. You guys claim to be for "equal rights" as 'feminists' but you only ever seem to take the women's side on anything, it's annoying as fuck when you guys come in here and defend people who are obviously in the wrong simply because they're female, and in other threads pretend to be on the morale high-ground because you're feminists who fight for 'equality', despite never actually doing such. You're like literally white-knights, and your shit's getting old.
I am a feminist (or so I have been told) and I completely disagree with thisispain If it is true she smeared his face with her saliva then that is absolutely a crime
I sense secret anime connections
for a guy to put his fingers in his mouth and then force those saliva covered fingers into a woman's mouth, just so he doesn't have to admit he was wrong on something. Amazing.
Well its alright if a women does it.
I sense secret anime connections
Well, anime/harems are known for one guy being constantly harassed and touched and sometimes licked by ALL the girls.
Do you think being shitty towards all of them may have affected their opinion of you..?
who are you to say who i have acted shitty towards? how do you know i have ever even said one wrong word to a police officer?
The discussion of the sexual harassment aside, If I were a riot officer I'd count my blessings if being provoked sexually was the worst thing to happen to me during the day "My body armor only protects me against severe third degree burns and skull-shattering fractures, not feeling uncomfortable :[" My question wouldn't be that it sexual harassment (it is) but moreover would there be this much of a fuss if say, somebody chucked garbage at one of the cops? I have doubts that such an incident of blatant assault and disrespect would get this much attention nor would the police go out of their way to prosecute some anonymous member of a mob that threw something at a cop. This shitfest only started because double standards are an obligatory hot topic. Having stones and Molotov cocktails thrown at you, I guess that's just part of the job, rioters will be rioters I guess. Being sexually provoked? Well that's the kind of thing that cuts a man to his core, hunt this wicked she-devil down and bring her to justice!
she kissed his helmet
That's also my euphemism for blowjobs.
actually if you throw garbage or anything else at a cop and you don't have a mob or black bloc to back you up you WILL get beaten.
You kinda have to realize that cops, while they shouldn't fail in such ways, are human too. After having rocks hurled at you and getting kicked, being pumped up and fucking angry is simply human. They should be disciplined of course, but if you take part in a violent demonstration, you should really know that you're at risk. If a demonstration turns violent, just fucking go home and you won't have to deal with that kind of stuff. From what I've seen US cops seem a lot harsher, but here in Denmark I generally don't disagree with the way they handle situation. And don't misunderstand me - cops shouldn't beat a person who's being passive at all, and if it happens (especially if unprovoked) they should be fired, because they're apparently not mentally strong enough to perform that job.
on the flipside if you start shooting tear gas or pepper spraying people don't be fucking surprised when you get lit by a molotov.
If you've provoked the police into gassing you and you throw a molotov you shouldn't be surprised when you've suffered a concussion from a cosh and face felony assault with a deadly weapon and get twenty years~
she kissed his helmet
Easy tiger! They could have at least went for dinner or something first.
like i said before, i dont care what the genders are, in this situation i dont think it warrants a criminal charge and i guess the itallian justice system agrees with me for the moment
I refuse to believe you're this entrenched in the concept that it's whimsical nonsense that were the gender roles reversed this would be a shit storm. No one can possibly be this unreasonable, it's entirely relevant, I don't even know where to begin as well with your statement about it not warranting a criminal charge, I'm not sure how the law works in the U.S. entirely but I'm half way through my training at the Joondalup academy in Western Australia for the police force and you have no idea how common the gender card is played.
A lot of people here seem to think the reaction would be much more severe if a man had kissed a female officer's helmet, but I haven't seen anything to show this yet. Personally I'm not so sure, but I'm open for changing my mind if anyone can show an example. Obviously there shouldn't be a different reaction, anyone fighting for proper equality agrees with this, whether they are feminists or whatever other label they choose to use. Also why exactly do everyone think it would be a much more violent response if it was a man kissing a woman's helmet? Surely there has to be a reason society would react differently, and I have my own theories about it, but I will leave those out for now.
Well its alright if a women does it.
While I don't agree with thisispain saying it's fine for anyone to do what this woman did, he never actually said women should get special treatment and men should be punished for it. (In fact he said the opposite). Claiming that he doesn't mean that would be speculation at best, and a fallacious argument at worst, unless anyone can actually show otherwise.
He has his eyes closed..
if you've provoked the protesters into attacking you then don't be surprised when you are being attacked.
I'm gonna sue you for sexual harassment, because you're wiggling your raging hateboner around again. At-least put on a good show and do "the helicopter" with it. Do you accept payments for doing that with hot-topic gift cards?
;43257593']You have to use sense though. There is "no proof" of allot of things, but it's just common sense to figure out. I can't really argue with you on that aside from pointing that out. sounds worthy of assault charges to me.
Yea if you are a pussy sure. Honestly this whole debate is entirely stupid. This women soundnt be charged because all she did was kissed a god damn visor, if she was a man, he shouldnt get charged either.

(I'm not saying anyone should be punished for kissing a visor by the way, and gender is completely irrelevant to that).

She licked her fingers and forced it into the guy's mouth.

I really didn't have the patience or willpower to go through 5 pages of people debating about cops being overreacting sexist pigs so at the risk of being late I'll ask if the people in this thread accusing the police would react all the same if the guy wasn't a cop and just a bystander who was suddenly assaulted by a woman trying to kiss him and stuff her fingers in his mouth. [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline]
cops don't wear visors, they wear spit shields. they are meant to be spit on. make sure you put them to good use next time you encounter a riot cop.
You can totally spit and shit on the floor in a public place, after all we've got janitors to clean it up for you afterward, am I right
Are you intentionally ignoring the article or what? She licked her fingers and forced it into the guy's mouth.
She pressed it on his lips actually. Oh no what a horrible evil crime. The only reason why she should get charged if the cop wants to press charges on her, which he wont because he isnt a pussy. You guys remind of those school administrators that threaten to expel a 1st grader for kissing a girl on the cheek.

Also no one is above crime so if you commit one the competent authorities are not only compelled, but OBLIGATED to arrest and judge you. You cannot commit a crime regardless how petty it is and come out scot free because "people are pussies".

What the fuck does "misdemeanor assault" even mean
