What the fuck does "misdemeanor assault" even mean
an assault that is a misdemeanor. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/misdemeanor a lesser crime punishable by a fine and/or county jail time for up to one year. Misdemeanors are distinguished from felonies which can be punished by a state prison term. They are tried in the lowest local court such as municipal, police or justice courts. Typical misdemeanors include: petty theft, disturbing the peace, simple assault and battery, drunk driving without injury to others, drunkenness in public, various traffic violations, public nuisances, and some crimes which can be charged either as a felony or misdemeanor depending on the circumstances and the discretion of the District Attorney. "High crimes and misdemeanors" referred to in the U. S. Constitution are felonies.
So, a buzzword to apologize for a bigger crime by making it sound petty and forgivable ?
not true actually. many crimes require the alleged victim to press charges. misdemeanor assault is one of those crimes.
It could be different under Italian law. It (sexual assault) could count as a felony, or misdemeanors could be prosecuted without the victim's consent.
if you've provoked the protesters into attacking you then don't be surprised when you are being attacked.
cool. Lets continue this silly game of ~escalation~ shall we when you attack the cops with molotovs dont be surprised when some apartheid africa riots shit happens and they just start loosing off live rounds into the crowd.

Lets continue this silly game of ~escalation~ shall we when you attack the cops with molotovs dont be surprised when some apartheid africa riots shit happens and they just start loosing off live rounds into the crowd.
there's a reason why this never happens.
A lot of people here seem to think the reaction would be much more severe if a man had kissed a female officer's helmet, but I haven't seen anything to show this yet. Personally I'm not so sure, but I'm open for changing my mind if anyone can show an example. Obviously there shouldn't be a different reaction, anyone fighting for proper equality agrees with this, whether they are feminists or whatever other label they choose to use. Also why exactly do everyone think it would be a much more violent response if it was a man kissing a woman's helmet? Surely there has to be a reason society would react differently, and I have my own theories about it, but I will leave those out for now. While I don't agree with thisispain saying it's fine for anyone to do what this woman did, he never actually said women should get special treatment and men should be punished for it. (In fact he said the opposite). Claiming that he doesn't mean that would be speculation at best, and a fallacious argument at worst, unless anyone can actually show otherwise.
it doesn't matter that she was a girl, she was forcibly spreading saliva onto a person she doesn't know with the intention of provoking them
cops don't wear visors, they wear spit shields. they are meant to be spit on. make sure you put them to good use next time you encounter a riot cop.
wanna come to my sleepover we'll listen to rage against the machine, and my mom's gonna order pizza hut!
wanna come to my sleepover we'll listen to rage against the machine, and my mom's gonna order pizza hut!
sleepovers are the bourgeois method of sedating the underclass(children). i will take no part in your class betrayal.
sleepovers are the bourgeois method of sedating the underclass(children). i will take no part in your class betrayal.
fine no stuffed crust for you
fine no stuffed crust for you
i'll take the pizza i'm just not gonna go to sleep. hence it won't be a sleepover.
on the flipside if you start shooting tear gas or pepper spraying people don't be fucking surprised when you get lit by a molotov.
Wow you're an asshole. I guess murder is okay when it is a police officer right guys?
Wow you're an asshole. I guess murder is okay when it is a police officer right guys?
By his logic it's ok to be violent against people you dislike without a valid reason.
i like how you all disregard thisispain and yawnman because apparently they don't argue perfectly then you're all snickering to yourself about them right to their faces and shit, "yeah haha those fucking IDIOTS i can WAIT to buy them titles!!!!" it's pre immature guyz

I'll admit that people go overboard with mocking Yawm, but he's our pet moron.
Wow you're an asshole. I guess murder is okay when it is a police officer right guys?
lol a molotov won't kill a riot cop. they get lit all the time. a molotov isn't even a particularly intimidating weapon. it's just easy to make. [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline] shit i got lit one time when me and a friend were fucking around throwing molotovs for fun.
i like how you all disregard thisispain and yawnman because apparently they don't argue perfectly then you're all snickering to yourself about them right to their faces and shit, "yeah haha those fucking IDIOTS i can WAIT to buy them titles!!!!" it's pre immature guyz
I'm not terribly involved in this particular discussion; but one of those guys has argued that attempting to put your saliva-coated fingers inside an unwilling person's mouth is not a big deal, while the other one is currently arguing that attempting to light someone on fire is not a big deal. These are not very good ways to get people to listen to much else you have to say.
what relevance does her gender have in the context of determining whether kissing someones helmet is a crime please explain this
Sometimes I worry about you.

yawmwen and tpain can act goofy sometimes but they usually make good points and this little circlejerk of hatred over them is really excessive and childish tbh

His entire arguments are based on belittling and back-pedalling until he gets a nerve
yawmwen and tpain can act goofy sometimes but they usually make good points and this little circlejerk of hatred over them is really excessive and childish tbh
Yawmwen aside tpain has never made good points. Ever. Lets not pretend like you dont carry a certain amount of bias here.
I guess it depends if the riot police are there to subdue a violent riot or overwatch a peaceful protest in case it goes south. If molotov's are being thrown, it's probably not a peaceful protest anymore.
there's a reason why this never happens.
Yep. Mainly, that reason being cops are less violent than protesters and as such, don't use deadly weapons like guns or firebombs with the intention to kill against masses.
yawmwen and tpain can act goofy sometimes
More like excessively annoying children who doesn't grasp the concept of civil discussion
but they usually make good points
See first response
and this little circlejerk of hatred over them is really excessive and childish tbh
I'm gonna call Irony, and I don't mean that in a ironic way. Long story short, their "us versus them" attitudes brought this upon themselves. If they even TRIED to stay civil then it would've never gone to hell like this.
yawmwen and tpain can act goofy sometimes but they usually make good points and this little circlejerk of hatred over them is really excessive and childish tbh
The only reason the general opinion of pain was positive was because, by and large, people didn't want to be labelled as neckbeard permavirgins for disagreeing with feminists. Now, people seem to realise that it's possible to dislike someone and their points without being vehemently against what they're standing for.
but it's still nothing compared to the means police employ regularly.
Wait. You sayin' that molotov cocktails and thrown bricks are less dangerous tools than tear gas and batons?
Wait. You sayin' that molotov cocktails and thrown bricks are less dangerous tools than tear gas and batons?
For the love of keeping your blood pressure low, ignore his bullshit. Just point & laugh.
