To be fair, modding for GTA IV was one hell of a hackjob, and we all know it. There's no official support. SA was a whole different ball game.
I still do wonder what would happen if GTA SA wouldn´t be modable. Less sales?
There's no actual difficulty involved. They just want to milk console gamers first because two things they seem to hate are modding and the off chance that they'll be pirated.
While this is indeed a thing, it has been for a long time already, but that's not the only reason.
I still do wonder what would happen if GTA SA wouldn´t be modable. Less sales?
We might be missing out on multiplayer in GTA games, actually. Because who knows if Rockstar would develop multiplayer for IV if not for MTA's overwhelming popularity.
Man it'd be amazing if the delay was because they were building a really amazing modding/mapping engine due to the modding demands for their previous games. I can imagine some pretty incredible things being made if that was the case. It'd also make sense that they'd be keeping that secretive if it were the case, cause it'd likely take a while to do and overhyping it might lead to disappointment, especially with it being their first SDK (that I'm aware of).
I really don't mind waiting for the real version because I'll be playing the game the way the developers intended.
You're either a troll or a moron.
You're either a troll or a moron.
There's something wrong with you if you can't see the effort Rockstar went through to get the game to even run on the consoles.
There's something wrong with you if you can't see the effort Rockstar went through to get the game to even run on the consoles.
I assume what he meant by "playing the game the way developers intended" is referring to playing it on PC. Which is moronic because if the developers intended for that they would have announced a PC release by now. I dunno though, I'm tired.

The port may take a long time, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be much better than GTAIV, considering it's the same studio that made Max Payne 3 (which was almost flawless in terms of performance)

Nothing to do with the PC, just the graphical fidelity and performance.
Imagine if rockstar would create a GTA V map maker. It'd be nice if it were just a non-exhaustive list which can be added to/removed from with new cars. And with a mapping tool, possibilities are jizzworthy. Like, you could set out to make some really sweet custom houses (I found GTA:IV had some really cool ones, but never enough) to compliment the current ones. I liked the business/garage ownership thing in San Andreas (though I can't remember if it was any good) and a business element could be expanded upon well (Dunno if GTA:V does this). Like, you could have several businesses around the city and it could have a management element to it where you hire staff and generate passive income from them. Burger bars and garages would be cool to own/manage. Really high end property should literally cost millions and come with unique things (I'm not really sure what... triplex apartment rooftop pool, lift-garage and helipad comes to mind) and pretty much require you to have multiple businesses going in order to afford them.
Shit, the games running at 914x540? Damn.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Lots of money to be made Xmas season.
Unless the release before Black Friday/really early December, sales are going to not be nearly as good. Same reason why consoles always seem to release before/during November.

Still impressive for 8 year old hardware. [editline]24th September 2013[/editline] Serious find me a source that states otherwise for the native resolution.

People seem to forget that the delay between console and PC versions also allows Rockstar time to iron out bugs they discover after release, which is a good thing, though it does suck for PC-only players. Also do remember that GTA IV's PC version was a port by Rockstar Toronto, who weren't well versed in the game or engine and so spent two years fixing the shoddy port. V has been at least partially cross developed with the console versions by Rockstar North, who know what they're doing. You should expect a PC version just as good, if not better than Max Payne 3's.
Shit, the games running at 914x540? Damn.
huh? where'd you see that?
I've seen you make some really thoughtful, well written posts before and when you start using sexual innuendo to talk about a game and use the term ''jizzworthy'' it's really depressing to witness.
The possibilities are almost-orgasm inducing and thus 'jizzworthy' haha. I get that some people are offended by bad language, but I wouldn't expect to find such readers in a thread about GTA:V, a game thoroughly laced with profanity and considerable obscene content. But... I guess if I wrote more sensibly and cut down on expletives, I could appeal to a wider audience. Thanks for the criticism. I'll definitely reconsider my writing style and take your point on board.
As long as they port it as well as they did Max Payne 3 we're in for a great ride, MP3 was a fucking great port.
Unless the release before Black Friday/really early December, sales are going to not be nearly as good. Same reason why consoles always seem to release before/during November.
It's a next to none possibility, yeah. The fact that it's been in dev since 2012 could hint it being a plan, although I'm just speculating.
huh? where'd you see that?

Yes, playing it on a PC where it's not being upscaled from 918x540 and running at 60 frames a second. I don't even believe in such a concept. I just tire easily of people talking about getting orgasms from games.
I really don't mind waiting for the real version because I'll be playing the game the way the developers intended.
how cute
I really don't mind waiting for the real version because I'll be playing the game the way the developers intended.
sorry to burst your bubble but rockstar primarily makes console games they're all the 'real version'
They'll release it the same time as the PS4 version. Next spring i'd guess.
sorry to burst your bubble but rockstar primarily makes console games they're all the 'real version'
They originally focused on PC though, but the console market is enticing and lucrative so I can understand a shift in priorities. However; I don't think playing it on PC is how the developers intended as layla said. I think if anything the way they intend us to play it is how we please; they delivered a massive game with an immersive environment for us all to fiddle fart around in. I just can't wait for endless hours of mucking about with my friends. The good thing is at least I can get excited for this and have BF4 and a few other choice releases to hold me over.
I really don't mind waiting for the real version because I'll be playing the game the way the developers intended.
Note that some of Facepunch actually agrees with this.
Controllers are best for driving mouse is best for shooting seriously even with autoaim I feel aiming in the game is very.... auuuuuuugh I'd say it's best run on PC, especially knowing how old as shit the 360 is. I'm sorry but, it's age is unacceptable and that whole "Your just being arrogant and elitist" argument is stupid and over used BS which you can use for xbone but 360? fuck no. You can use a controller on pc anyways.
Note that some of Facepunch actually agrees with this.
Well the PC/Next Gen version shouldn't lag etc.
