Lesbian teacher, 27, who had sex with pupil after grooming her with intimate texts and video messag

When I was 15, a male, I would have gladly had sexual encounters with a 27 year old, female teacher. My friends evidently felt the same back then. As did their friends. In fact I'd feel that the average male would enjoy an experience as such, and that they themselves would not consider it damaging to their lives in retrospect. Average of course.
I suppose I wouldn't mind being this 16 year old girl. But she would get criticism from peers. People calling her a slut and a freak and what not. The reactions and fear of reactions from third parties are likely to be emotionally damaging.
That 16 year old girl will go through harsher consequences than a male in the same position. Those that support her won't support her the same way that a male would be supported. A male would be supported with cheers and high fives from peers, while a female would be supported through reassurance that they are a blameless victim.
I for one will not call this 16 year old a victim. She is a bro. And a cool bro at that.

Are you really going to look at this, think 'hot' because it's a girl and act like it's no big deal
are you really gonna do that

I get that you're making a South Park reference but you also seem to legitimately find this hot and not, y'know, awful (and also that joke has been told to death)
We need a movement for equality.

Yeah, I did that. And without references. Watch out for that edge.
Is there video evidence?
Can we stop the posting of the Daily Fail? All it ever does is cause shitstorms.
Lesbian privileges.
Just wondering, isn't the age of consent 16 in the UK? While she definitely deserves the jail time for having sex with a student, I'm not sure if it's like in the US where she would be charged with sex with a minor. Rather, she was convicted of having sex with someone above the age of consent, but still below the age of 18 while in a position of trust, which might have lighter consequences? If anyone from the UK could explain this further it might make a bit more sense as I'm a bit confused myself.

In what way? What would you like explaining?
What an evil cunt, I hope she gets her uterus scooped out without anesthesia.
Nice.
Christ. There's always this idiot.

Well, is it that the age of consent is 16 but you can only legally have sex with people in the 16-18 range until you turn 18? Or is the crime here that the woman was in a position of trust? What is the significance of being within the 16-18 range, as opposed to the 14-16 range for example?

In the UK 16 is the age of consent, unless you're in a position of trust, which then it's 18+, though even regardless of age, it'd be considered unprofessional (though not actually a crime, but probably against school policy) being in a relationship with someone who is currently a student at your school/one of your students.

The age of consent is 16 so having sex with anyone under that age is sex with a minor and thus illegal. A 16 yr old is free to have sex with whoever these please so long as that person is not in a position of trust.
The issue here is that the teacher is the position of trust so it is illegal for the teacher to engage in sexual activity with anyone under their care between the ages 16-18. As soon as you turn 18 you can do what you like with who you like, even if they are your university lecturer or family doctor.
The 16-18 age range is only a thing when it comes to positions of trust/power.
As to why this exists, I guess it is to protect young people from teachers/doctors who might abuse their position of power whilst the young people are still vulnerable. Another reason why this exists is that you are not considered a full adult until 18 thus the state still has to look after you up to that point. Teachers and doctors still have (some) legal authority over you until 18 so sexual relationships are inappropriate until this power imbalance has gone.

What if a 16 year old is pressured into sex with a very popular person of the same age? Couldn't that popular person abuse their social power (which can be very powerful) to get with someone?
Isn't that the same type of issue?
What about power imbalances between adults who have sex with each other? Government agents and what not. Don't they have power over people? The reason can't be power imbalance... it's too inconsistent with our treatment of people over the age of 18.

Well there's also the harassment part (possibly statutory rape too ? Not sure). That's illegal regardless of age.
Read the article and noticed that there's a picture of the judge
You guys still wear wigs for court proceedings over there?
In Sweden sex is legal at 15 so this isn't shocking to me in the slightest v:v:v
