Thinking about getting this when it comes out.
The first payday never interested me, it seemed too much like a heist-game-mode for gmod or L4D to make me want to spend money on it over other games, but after I saw some videos of this one, it actually looks really interesting. Just hope it has a ton of scenarios to have fun with (remember back in the day, UT would ship with 80+ maps?).
The only thing that worries me is that the game would become really by-the-numbers once you learned the maps, making shit like "buying intelligence" completely worthless. It needs to have a good degree of randomization to really make the replay value of the levels work, not only in which NPC's carry what things but also the locations of certain areas (or even, if those areas are present in the first place). I'm also not a fan of the "source-engine" style animations everyone has where it looks like a model is kind of floating around the world without any real weight or interaction with that world, but thats a stupid minor nitpick.

im commenting on the simplistic nature of the music that is terrible in its own right
it doesnt matter if the power chords change to bass notes because if we're talking simplicity, its actually more simple than playing power chords because atleast then you dont have to bar your finger

From what I've heard of the soundtrack I don't see why everyone's raving about it, sounds like generic electronica to me. The game itself looks pretty kickass though.

Pre ordered and am trying to get my mates into it as I have been having a silly amount of fun just pubbing with the Beta. Not surprised it has gotten such positive feedback and word of mouth. So far this is awesome and we haven't even seen the rest of the maps and specialization that release will have.
Just wish the inventory and weapon mods system was handled a little differently.

The whole point of it is that it sets the game's mood, IMO. Tracks align as you play, creating something like a dynamic soundtrack with preset pieces.

It's not great on it's own, but ingame, it ties in perfectly, particularly the assault tracks, they start up right as the cops hit you.
