Not a big fan of the choice of marinade.
It sucks, but that's the cold reality of the situation. I say make whoever's responsible euthanize them themselves and make them watch the life extinguished right before their eyes, and constantly remind them that this is what they've wrought. Shit like that builds character, something I'm sure they're short on.
Don't kill them, put them on fire.
Kill two birds with one stone (no pun intended), and cram the oil well full of baby ducks and sea otters. They've proven to be quite good at soaking up oil.

They put up a huge wall of images of half-dead animals and claimed that it was the state they recived the animals in.
