Are we talking about being married with children or just marriage in general? Try taking care of a child at age 16, while finishing your education, with a minimum wage job.
Even without children, it just seems really unwise to marry at age 16. Like someone mentioned before, most 16 year olds can't really make that type of decision.
Married in general. Marriage doesn't automatically require children right after.
Nor does marriage automatically mean one has to live in their own home, fully capable of supporting themselves and their bills. I know couples that roommate with other couples and I have a couple married cousins who (in their late 20s) live with their parents to get by. It all works out.
What if guy A has to move to California to work at Google and Girl B wants to stay home and work at her current job?
That's a long commute
They they can make a compromise or break up.
That goes the same for any marriage of any length by two people of any age.
That scenario can happen to a couple who have been married for 10 years and they're both 35.
I know it's an anecdote, but my parents went through something like that before I was born. Both were born and raised in western Pennsylvania and my father got a job offer in New Jersey. He moved to south Jersey and bunked with a friend that lived there for over a year while my mother stayed in western PA. They saw each other maybe once every two months but after a while, they were able to move in together here in New Jersey. What made it work was, they compromised on the situation and were patient for things to work out. It didn't cause any marriage issues or problems (and I was born soon after :v: )

except that by 35 you're pretty much set on life, in most cases. at 16, you don't know what the fuck you want to do, at least that was the case with me
How many people watched the video?? I only watched a short version and it appears he's joking. According to FOX news Robertson wrote a book that explains the video as a joke.
While I don't agree with what he says, the quote is from 2009. The only reason to bring it up is to add more drama to his already existing "controversy".

"in most cases"
"at least that was the case with me"
Can someone explain what this fucking show I keep hearing of is even about
I mean I read wikipedia and it's appearently about a family that makes duck hunting equipment? How do you even make a show from that? Are they doing West Coast Customs style "pimp my duck call" or something?
Confusing.

if you really want it, i'm sure there's plenty of non-anecdotal evidence out there for you to search for
[editline]31st December 2013[/editline]
i'm trying to have a normal discussion like a normal person, not come up with flawless arguments and post all sorts of articles and researches that reinforce my point. if you want to point out why my arguing is flawed, at least stick to the topic at hand, not JUST to my arguing. was your experience different than mine? were you certain about what you wanted to do in life at 16? tell me about it, then
why not become gay then?
dick sucking never gets old!
Oh god how I've tried (for different reasons, but still). Maybe I just need to continue the search for the right drug cocktail…
I love everyone rating me dumb. Telling people to get married at 16 is horrible advice. Someone who is 16 is absolutely not fully matured enough to make a decision like that. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's smart.
While I agree with every point you're making. . .you got dumb ratings, and then made a brand new post complaining about your dumb ratings?
statistically the younger the people getting married are the less likely it is to work out

It's like The Beverly Hillbillies. Pretty much, an unsophisticated backwoods family made a shit ton of money overnight, and the "humor" comes from how they're rich as shit, but still an unsophisticated backwoods family.
That's about the long and short of it all, really.
I'm 56 and my GF is 11 but you don't see me judging anyone
