I'll agree with you all once Trump is actually impeached. He hasn't been charged, and I highly doubt he will be impeached.
Because I hope that we can all agree that everyone is innocent until proven guilty under the US court of law.
I'll be honest with ya all - this is soo much fun to observe one man cause such a havok in goverment and society.
Wonder what going to top that in next years of trump presidency.
It soo out of reality.
At this point I don't think anything could ever shake t_d's faith in their Dear Leader
It would be twisted around as a kangaroo court and phony conviction built on lies and slander and he'd be treated as a martyr
They can cry about lies and slander until the cows come home, but as far as I'm concerned, if they still believe that he did absolutely nothing wrong even when he gets impeached and arrested, then tossed into a prison, I'd recommend they visit a good psychiatrist.
I don't think there is a breaking point for these people.
I genuinely think Trump could execute someone they care about on the street, and they'd still find a way to make that into "MAGA".
You know who else thinks that?

I don't really blame them for not coming in here and commenting on this but nobody ever said they have to support trump forever

I'm glad you're enjoying it but the last time Russia was facing a wildcard US President, the result was RYaN and the near miss of Able Archer 83.

I'm absolutely certain this sentiment is echoed in high places not too far from you.
There's a curious thing to note about Trump's behavior. Many here consider it vastly incompetent, but the thing is, it's not really necessarily so. The fact remains that Trump has yet to face any hard consequences about them and for now keeps playing his one-man show. He's got exceptionally loyal cabinet, for now the support of both representative chambers and a grassroots support most politicians can only ever dream about. His position is anything but weak even if he's going against the odds - hell, that's how he won, with a campaign like no other in recent history which many saw inevitably doomed to fail. Yet he pushed through.
But Trump is a shameless man, so shaming him to obedience simply does not work. He does not stick to precedent and good conduct. The only way to oppose him is the hard measures, and so far he's been playing around them quite well. As incoherent and clownish Trump is, he is not a bad politician. Trump may lack in traditional and formal qualifications, but he has where it really counts - getting people to do as he wants, regardless how unorthodox or heavy-handed those methods might be.
Those things are all true - he is shameless and has quite an ego, and believes nobody would ever dare betray him; that he has cart blanche to say or do whatever he likes.
These things will prove to be his undoing; that's why I feel the odds are insurmountably against him -- because he both refuses to bow to failure and refuses to tell the truth. He's going to destroy himself, all the while claiming that nobody 'really understands him' and that 'it's not illegal when the President does it'.
The greatest enemy to Donald Trump's Presidency is Donald Trump.
Is anything happening with regards to this aside from the letter from Representative Raja? I want to believe that people are trying to get the wheels in motion for some action here but I've not seen anything concrete.

My point is that Trump might be more savvy to how things roll in DC than FP. As outrageous as his antics have been, the official response I've seen has been rather underwhelming. It's like Dems aren't capable of coherent strong action to challenge his BS. As opposition party they seem rather toothless and so far GOP has little reason to drop him. As stupid as this is to follow, for now my money is on Trump finishing his term in full.
I agree that Trump says stupid shit on twitter. But that's all this was, whats new? Can you really honestly believe that Trump is trying to blackmail Comey over Twitter?
Yes. Read the tweet. It's cut and dry.
I've had it with Trump supporters rationalizing this bullshit. No. Just no. This is unacceptable conduct from the leader of the free world.

It's just locker room decapitation and molestation, no big deal! He was probably a future liberal anyways, not to mention he would be an eventual waste of tax-payer dollars.
Edit: Back on topic to prevent potential bandwagoning, there was a Fox News interview where he also proposed the possibility of doing Press Briefings himself every two weeks in place of daily press briefings with Spicer or something. It's amazing that he thinks the only problem is the messenger(s) and not the message itself. What a clown.

he was gonna grow up to be a bad hombre, trump was just taking precautions.
the only way trump could ever lose support would be if he personally punched each and every one of his supporters in the face
and even then every unpunched supporter would be laughing at the people ahead of them in the queue

- Attempted to twice apply an unconstituitional immigration ban against Muslims
- Unjustly enriching himself at the cost of the taxpayer by spending every single weekend at one of his own properties, usually Mar-a-Lago, instead of the White House which is custom-built to protect the President and is where most of the major investments into supporting and protecting the President have gone.

- In addition to direct emoluments violations, Trump is in conflicts of interest with his business holdings all over the place with domestic government enrichment and being able to make decisions that involve his businesses. The solution to this is to place everything into a blind trust that firewalls your business interests off and removes any decision-making power or information sharing; Trump's business trust is anything but blind and hands-off.

I can't even hope to come up with a conclusive list.
He learned Flynn was likely compromised and only fired him when the story became public, days after it would have been appropriate to shitcan him for cause. On the other hand, he fired Sally Yates immediately for whistleblowing responsibly on Flynn and his probable compromise by Russia. He fired Comey for getting too close to the Russia scandal, his administration made up conflicting stories before he proved they were all lies by personally admitting that Comey's firing was premeditated, and he is now threatening Comey with blackmail.

What's really sad is that, even if they want to use the "b-b-b-b-b-but other Presidents did that too!", wouldn't that invalidate their claims that Trump was different because he was a political outsider that had no motivation to succumb to corruption and wanted to "drain the swamp"?

I don't even get their logic behind arguments like those.
"B-b-b-but Hillary!" -- Yeah? She didn't. Fucking. Win. Stop bringing her up. Her political career is practically dead in the water at this point. She lost the Presidency to an inexperienced one-term senator, and a game show TV host with no political experience whatsoever. If the Dems choose to keep her around, that could very well end up causing their whole damn party to collapse.
"Well <this president> did this too!" -- Doesn't matter if they did it. If it was a shitty fucking idea, it was a shitty fucking idea. Just because someone else did it doesn't suddenly make it okay.
I'm not going to pretend that everything Obama did was great, and that his whole Presidency was sunshine and rainbows. It definitely wasn't. The dude accomplished a fair amount of his own stupid shit. But the corrupt, narcissistic fuckweasel we have in office is far worse than anything we've had in the past century. And to grant some level of fairness to ol' Donnie, it's not just him causing the barrel fire to keep on burning, it's all the idiots he's appointed to his administration. People like Jeff Sessions, Ajit Pai, Rex Tillerson, and many more.
It's a team effort in fucking over the poor and the middle-class, and I just don't understand why the victims are openly supporting it. It's like a fraction of the population has developed some form of political Stockholm syndrome, and I'm really not sure what anyone else can do about it.
Trump isn't going until his 4 years are done, and even then he'll likely be re-elected. The people with money don't want Trump out and the rules of the game are written by those in power already, people who have had years of practice at law and politics. They'll give the public their ready-made excuses as to why 'Trump can't be impeached', if they even address the question in the first place.
If Hillary was doing this I would want her impeachment too

I hate that I'm becoming such a cynic but at this point it's hard not to be. I mean, Trump hasn't shown any sign of slowing down and has faced zero pushback from his base, and no matter how hard Colbert/Noah/Maher/Meyers/Bee/Olbermann "demolish" what he's doing and no matter how many "Sir! Have you no sense of decency, sir?" tweetstorms get dumped in his replies nothing is going to change.
The Republican majority is not going to impeach, they're still narrow-mindedly going to charge ahead on demolishing anything with Obama's name on it and cutting taxes for corporations and billionaires while hog-tying free speech and poisoning the environment and cutting off healthcare. The 40% of the electorate who only read Fox News and the MAGA chuds who only read Breitbart and Infowars will continue to cheer on their god-emperor against the 'lies and propaganda' of the leftist snowflake media.
this moron is going to be in the white house for eight years and there's nothing you can do about it

Unfortunately giving into such cynicism is what will ensure he will be.

Just saying if you're banking on impeachment, that's not what's going to happen. Not unless whole cities empty out in protest marches. I mean whole metropolitan cities, no hyperbole.
