I'm excited. Also nervous.

oh god please please please land for the sake of humanity
Layers of rock in the crater. I wonder if we'll find fossils.
I gotta take a piss but I don't wanna miss a second of this.
6:21; completely worth it.
I should try to recreate this in Kerbal Space Program.
daww this animated video is so cute
Schrodinger's Curiosity
I really hope everything goes as planned. It' be a huge letdown if something happen to poor old curiosity :(
Holy crap that wheel.
rollin with sum 22's
Wow Curiosity is a massively bigger rover in comparison.
iirc the the pattern on the wheel says jpl in morse code
you see that guy's mohawk?
I stayed up all night for this because a friend on Skype said it was at 3:00 am GMT:0 It's now 5:31 and i feel like death. My own exploration in the kitchen yielded the following results; Cheap multigrain aldi hoops 6 pack of coke Lucozade 1 ltr 2 full fat yoghurts pure orange juice 1ltr 1lr of spring water 3 bags of cheese and onion chrisps 4 tangerines some wine gums This better not crash.
get some real time telemetry!
I'll be sitting here at 6:30am just to watch this. Fuck my appointment today, this shit is monumental. :v:
get some real time telemetry!
its 14 minute delayed telemetry :( damnit physics
Does anyone know the distance between Earth and Mars in light minutes currently? I mean, it can differ between 4.5 light minutes to 20 light minutes depending on relative positions.
Does anyone know the distance between Earth and Mars in light minutes currently? I mean, it can differ between 4.5 light minutes to 20 light minutes depending on relative positions.
7 lm
Does anyone know the distance between Earth and Mars in light minutes currently? I mean, it can differ between 4.5 light minutes to 20 light minutes depending on relative positions.
14 earth minutes if that helps use a calculator
14 earth minutes if that helps use a calculator
delay in earth minutes = distance there and back = half for distance there, therefore 7 lm
14 earth minutes if that helps use a calculator
That's all great but the distance between Mars and Earth isn't uniform throughout every day.
I know the data is radio waves that will take 14 minutes and that sucks balls.
7 lm
<3
Does anyone know the distance between Earth and Mars in light minutes currently? I mean, it can differ between 4.5 light minutes to 20 light minutes depending on relative positions.
14 I THINK
That's all great but the distance between Mars and Earth isn't uniform throughout every day.
well they are using radio waves so it takes 14 minutes for data to arrive at earth from mars. easier to use that.
<3
belay that, 13.8 lm
Can you imagine if they just lost all contact with the vehicle? shit would go ape.
