lmao... "but i intended to squeeze the trigger very gently, officer"
I dont know dude I think punching someone is kind of a bit different than shooting someone!
What's Zonesylvania gonna say? That he died?
zonesylvania says he punched a guy unconscious in the ER or something like that
As much of a scumbag as that patient was, he didn't deserve to die.

Don't be a scumbag/asshole then. Don't cause trouble, and there won't be any trouble. Pretty simple. Punishing people for standing up for themselves and for those around them is fucking stupid, and it just enables these kinds of assholes and scumbags. Reminds me of policies we have here in our schools where both parties get in trouble: the person who starts the fight as well as the person who tries to defend themselves by fighting back.
Do people honestly lack self-preservation and respect this much that they wouldn't stand up for themselves and others, or is it just a case of egocentrism where "well it didn't happen to me, so go ahead and charge him with manslaughter"? It's stupid to ruin somebody's life and put them in prison over something like this-- especially a doctor who has value in the world.

This is a terrible post. You don't stand up for yourself by killing anyone. A doctor like him has little value to this world, and we don't even know if the patient did anything.
Did you even notice how he completely beat up the other guy who was only trying to intervene?
and what about the left hand punch in 3rd?
Not too sure, it doesn't look like his left hand actually moved at any point during the first punch.
I don't think it is possible to make an accurate conclusion just from the video

I sincerely doubt this doctor intended to kill the guy. That alone clears him of murder. Manslaughter is still on the table if the assault was unprovoked, but if the story about that guy assaulting one of the nurses is true, then who can really blame the doctor for beating the shit out of him?
We don't have all the facts.

Are you saying that a doctor of all people doesn't understand that throwing a punch can always potentially end in somebody losing their life?

The reason those rules exist in schools is because you're not meant to escalate a situation once it becomes an issue and generally the instigator gets a harsher punishment than the victim. Generally the victim gets the afternoon, or the next day off so that the situation doesn't spiral out of control for the rest of the day.
But yeah, you're right. It's okay for a doctor to throw a punch at a patient because he's worth more to society. It's not like he should've called security or made an effort to calm the situation outside of bursting in to the room and throwing people around

yes a doctor does have value in the world, which is why we have people who can effectively take care of matters like these for them so doctors don't have to take time out of their busy day to put themselves and others at risk because they need to "stand up for themselves"
