Reminds me of policies we have here in our schools where both parties get in trouble: the person who starts the fight as well as the person who tries to defend themselves by fighting back. You don't stand up for yourself by killing anyone. A [I]doctor[/I] like him has little value to this world, and we don't even know if the patient did anything. Did you even notice how he completely beat up the other guy who was only trying to intervene?

Manslaughter is still on the table if the assault was unprovoked, but if the story about that guy assaulting one of the nurses is true, then who can really blame the doctor for beating the shit out of him? We don't have all the facts.

Generally the victim gets the afternoon, or the next day off so that the situation doesn't spiral out of control for the rest of the day. But yeah, you're right. It's okay for a doctor to throw a punch at a patient because he's worth more to society. It's not like he should've called security or made an effort to calm the situation outside of bursting in to the room and throwing people around
