This is a common trend that I've noticed with Wystan. The sources he posts as "proof" either don't validate what he says, or are from dodgy websites that don't have credibility. He'll then go on to ignore legitimate peer reviewed research done by accredited academic journals whenever anyone else posts it. I love how you complain about personal attacks, and then immediately use a personal attack against someone else in the next sentence. It's like you have no self awareness.
Which is why there isn't a point to argue with someone like that. Especially if they support waterboarding and worse methods of torture. I'm sure the damage is done. Everyone has seen him for who he is, if not before, now.

So it's conceivable that you could find some legitimate economists who are willing to criticize Bernie Sanders. But Wystan still manages to fuck it up somehow.
I read the article, and still totally am in favor of waterboarding and even the families if it comes down to it
you disgust me
The effectiveness of torture is just an unreliable roll of dice as the one being tortured will say anything to just get out of it. Then:" Oh no! You've been giving us false information. Guess we just have to torture you even more :downs:."
Then:" Oh no! You've been giving us false information. Guess we just have to torture you even more :downs:."
Let's say you've tried being nice, you've tried being Hans Scharff, you've tried all the non-violent stuff and leave torture as your last resort (as both FWL and Wystan have implied one should) and your prisoner is still unwilling to divulge any information he may or may not have. What do you propose doing next? Are you just supposed to let the guy go?

That's a false dichotomy. Moreover, how would you even be able to tell if the person you were torturing was lying to you or not? If you knew enough before hand to know the falsehood of claims made under duress, wouldn't that preclude the necessity of torture to begin with?
